Dale’s home game against Wealdstone on Saturday will be refereed by SCOTT SIMPSON.

This will be the first time Scott has refereed a Rochdale match, while he last saw Wealdstone at their 4-2 loss at Altrincham in April 2022.

The Stoke-on-Trent official, who works as a Sales Manager, was promoted to the National List of referees in the summer of 2022 and has largely refereed in the EFL since then, with a small number of National League appointments this term after the lists were re-aligned.

These includes Boston v Oldham on Tuesday night and the York v Halifax derby match a fortnight ago.

Before midweek, Scott had refereed 23 games this season, showing 86 yellow cards and four reds. Of his 23 games, ten have been in League Two and six in League One.
