The loan of Tommy McDermott has been cut short and the midfielder returns to Port Vale.

The first news of any kind from the club for a couple of weeks comes as midfielder Tommy McDermott's loan from Port Vale has been cut short.

McDermott joined in early August as a midfield replacement for Cody Johnson who was recalled by Stockport before even playing a game for Dale, but the 18-year-old only featured 4 times for Dale and hasn't featured since the beginning of September when he came on as a substitute against Halifax.

It doesn't really come as a surprise this has happened as McNulty hasn't really given the youngster much of a chance.

We still await news of Cian Hayes who joined on a months loan back on 5th October but nothing has been said as to whether he's staying or going back as yet.
