Ukrainian striker to join the Swans on a permanent deal Monday, 31st Jul 2023 19:36 by @Cornish67David Ukraine under 21 international, Mykola Kukharevych is due to complete his move to Swansea City with little now stopping the final paperwork being completed. He played fifteen games on loan to Hibernian last season but has had a difficult time with injuries. This seems to be a signal of some prior planning by Paul Watson (Sporitng Director) and Josh Marsh (Head of football operations) in lieu of increased interest in Joel Piroe. Traditionally the summer transfer window goes onto the end of August and it’s almost certain clubs will try their luck with Piroe before that comes to an end. Despite reports Piroe is staying at Swansea we know that this isn’t cast in stone and he will most certainly move on if the right club and finance offer is made. Despite his age (22) 6’4” Mykola has played very few games as a professional. His stint in Edinburgh last season seeing the most football for two season since appearing for FC Rukh Lviv in Ukraine. The move is a permanent deal with his current club Troyes relegated to Ligue 2 in France last season. You can definitely associate this signing with Paul Watson who over the past five years has guided Luton Town’s transfer business carefully and financially positively before joining the Swans. The issue which has caused extra negotiation with Troyes is the players fitness. He has been susceptible to medial ligament damage for two years which he again suffered whilst playing for Hibs last season. His medical assessments have been and continue to be as rigorous as they possibly can be. The fee as we understand it is undisclosed. We can disclose Carl Rushworth has agreed to a season long loan from Brighton, but as Duff has reiterated on numerous occasions medicals can sometimes scupper deals. We will be watching this and the ongoing transfer business all this week. Agents and clubs are busy alerting a variety of news outlets to encourage interest in their players as we saw yesterday with Olivier Ntcham and his ‘proposed’ move to Turkey.
