Could It Be Curtis?

Speculation is growing that the Swans could make Alan Curtis' tenure has interim manager a longer one as they bid to get the points that we need to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Curtis has been in charge for five games since the departure of Garry Monk last month, a five game spell that has seen the Swans pick up five points and we currently stand two points ahead of the relegation zone with two important home games to coming up against Sunderland and Watford that could make a massive difference.

During the time since the departure of Monk we have been linked with Bielsa, Sampaoli, Rodgers, Poyet and Di Matteo amongst others but the club have remained very silent on what they are working on manager wise.

Performances on the pitch have stepped up since the change was made with the club notably returning to some of our previous ways which had been lost under Garry Monk. Of the two games we have lost we can consider ourselves unlucky to have lost them both but with one win and two clean sheets rumours and reports are suggesting that Curtis could be given a longer spell in charge whilst we continue the search for the right man to replace Monk.

Speaking after Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford, Curtis responded to questions on the length of time in charge "The honest answer is I don’t know, we still have to prepare a team for Oxford while bearing in mind that we have got a huge game against Sunderland on the Wednesday after that.

"Somebody could come in tomorrow, but we can’t think like that — we have to assume we will still be in charge and try to get some results.

"I am sure something is going on, it is just that it’s a little bit quiet at the moment. I have had no indication either way, it’s just a question of preparing for games and then waiting to see what happens.

“I have said there is a need to bring someone in but I don’t know if that is what the club are thinking. The performances have perhaps given everybody a bit more time to think and make sure we get the right man.

“But it is still a day by day situation and I am aware things could change this week. All we can do is prepare for the next weekend and the two massive home games.”
