Whilst they're normally bringing us bad news, the good old folks at "Sky Sports News understands..." are suggesting that Jack O'Connell is set to come back to Spotland.

O'Connell spent last season on loan at Spotland, and had a fantastic time winning a number of plaudits for his performances. In the match rating system on this website, he had the highest average of any player in last year's promotion system.

At time of writing, there is no news on the length of the loan deal, but if its being put through on deadline day, it would suggest it will be until January at least.

O'Connell has only featured in one game for Blackburn this season, but was on the bench for their 3-1 defeat at Wolverhampton on Saturday.

geraldo added 14:03 - Sep 1 I would certainly welcome him back as both the goals on Sat came as a result of Hanson winning the ball in the air in our box. Why no mention of a striker - I know we have a lot on paper but don't think any of them merit the description "striker"!!
