An Evening With Dave Courtney In Aid Of Scummers And Skates Wednesday, 16th Jul 2014 21:59 that excellent fund raising group Scummers And Skates are having another charity evening with a special guest speaker. Dave Courtney is described on wikipedia as a former English Gangster who has turned author and celebrity gangster figure, that is probably a fair assessment of a man who has been involved in as diverse activities as debt collecting, minding, assault, contraband, murder and addressing the Oxford University debating society and these are just the things he is willing to admit to !!!!! Certainly he is a colourful character and for those who enjoy this sort of thing an Evening With Dave Courtney is something not be missed, to put it bluntly if you don't know who he is then you probably won't want to go, but if you to then you could be in for a treat if you go along to his latest "Evening" all in aid of the Skates & Scummers Charity group. There will also be a dj and an auction on the night and Dave is doing it free of charge so all the money raised can go the charity itself that aims to help out disadvantaged kids in both Southampton & Portsmouth. It is this Saturday July 19th at the Old Farmhouse Pub Mount Pleasant Road (By the train gates) in Northam from 7pm and the cost is a measly £10 on the door. Hopefully this will raise a few bob for this worth cause, but if tales of debauchery in the old East End aren't your cup of tea (or should we say rosie) then why not come to the next event on the Scummers & Skates calendar, a family fun day on Saturday August 2nd. This is being held at the Anchor Hotel in Redbridge starting at midday it will have all of the following and more Live music The Anchor is a great old style pub and this is a great opportunity to have a good day out and help the Scummers & Skates to raise a few more pounds for their very worthy causes.
