Refwatch Preview: Dale v Dagenham Friday, 31st Jan 2014 22:59 by TVOS Highly-rated referee Andy Madley will be the man-in-the-middle for Dale’s match with Dagenham on Saturday. Mr Madley is in only his third season on the league list, but he has received some important appointments in that time, including several Championship fixtures and last season’s League 2 play-off semi-final between Cheltenham and Northampton. This will be Andy’s third game at Spotland and so far we have one win and one loss under his charge. In April 2012 he was the referee for the remarkable match against Exeter when Dale came from 2-0 down to win 3-2, scoring all their goals in the final 11 minutes. However, just under a year ago, he was back at Spotland for the 3-0 midweek loss to Accrington. We also saw Mr Madley for the goalless draw at Walsall on New Year’s Eve 2011. A 30-year-old PE teacher from Ossett, Andy is the brother of Premier League referee Bobby Madley, who is taking charge of Everton v Aston Villa this afternoon. So far this term, Andy has refereed 25 games, showing 74 yellow cards and four red. His most recent game was Ipswich v Reading last Saturday.
