Swans Target Premiership Striker?

Swans To Snap Up Premiership Striker?

Todorov was a key man in Pompey's league title winning team of last season but has spent all of this season on the sidelines with injury. However, he has recently returned from injury to take part in training sessions at Fratton Park and their official site reports him as knocking a few goals in for good measure.

Todorov joined Portsmouth back in 2002 and scored 28 goals last season in just 48 games as Portsmouth won the first division title leading from the front all the way. This included a hat-trick in the last game that he played for the club, a 5-0 win over Bradford on the last day of the season. He cost Pompey £750,000 when he joined them from West Ham.

Part of the deal that saw Richard Duffy join Portsmouth was that the Swans would have an option on loan players coming out of Portsmouth and with Harry Redknapp seemingly reluctant to throw Todorov straight into a relegation battle in the Premiership there is a chance that this move could actually come off.

Todorov has also been capped 21 times for Bulgaria and scored two goals.

The name of the striker that Flynn has been looking to bring in has brought about many names, Todorov being the strongest rumour of them all before the confirmed interest in Oxford striker Steve Basham, who despite 13 goals this season has only found the net twice in the last four months. Southampton striker Agustin Delgado has also been linked with a possible loan move.

Also circulating the Cardiff media still is a potential move for Swans striker Lee Trundle with a possible £800,000 sale on the cards. Part of the sale will see a West Ham player move to the Vetch on loan and intriguingly this could be - you guessed it - Lee Trundle. The plot thickens?
