now THATS a home performance 17:22 - Nov 17 with 6813 viewsolympicdale

so many positives from that game, whole team showed grit, determination and desire to win that match.

Ryan edwards clear motm for managing to keep brizzles best player, by a mile, Eaves in his pocket, boy he'll know he was in a game tonight.

Bennett, if keeps on as he is, is going to be some player, our next saleable asset.

Cavagnah was a true captain after we drew level, real terrior like performance.

Dele was our best player besides RE imo, fantastic shift, really linked up well with grant an gornell, the latter looks like quite a player i hope he's ours come the new yr.

When bobby grant plays well, as do we, he's pivitol in our play, anothercantastic display by our 22

special mentions to PE, Mcintyre and Tuttey too, all in all a brilliant game i thoroughly enyoyed watching! UTD!

how bad was that challenge at the end by their lad too!! ooucch

Life is a game of fate.

Got to disagree about R.Edwards. Poor challenge for the pen and looked uncomfortable at various times.

Agree abou Bennett but Edwards disappointed for me with the pen and distribution. I thought both p Edwards and Cav has decent games

I thought our weakest players today were the two centre backs, and that's the first time I've been able to say that this season!

Was their penalty a penalty? Seemed pretty soft to everyone not at that side of the ground.

P.Edwards looked like a full back today, and its probably the best I've seen him play. I'm far from his biggest fan as well.

The midfield and strikers were on fire today. My only criticism would be that the game should have been over at half time but it was good to see we didn't give up and we fought for the win.

Up the Dale!

It was a clear penalty. There was no need to make the challenge. Edwards jumped in about five minutes earlier which nearly cost a goal. He did improve in the second half. I thought Bennett was excellent as usual. He is becoming some player.

Grant makes a massive difference to our team. I was also impressed with Gornell.

Yes, it was a clear penalty. I think the confusion and surprise among the fans was due to the referee's slight hesitation in awarding it, but it was a definite foul.

I was impressed with Gornell and would have named him man of the match on political grounds.

Dale should have had a penalty in the second half for handball , better performance all round .
MOM for me was their keeper he made some great stops.

Agree - now THATS a home performance

100% BETTER than of late and a welcome move in the right direction.

OD think you got your Edwards mixed up as IMHO Phil was awesome today and Ryan didnt look fully fit to me.

Bennett coming on leaps and bounds - Now he did put in a shift today!!

This beer tastes all the sweeter tonight for 3 home points and a performance full of positives.

I thought it seemed harsh but we were lucky not to have another against us when Cavanagh slid in. For me P Edwards, Du du du, Grant and Bennett were our best but it was a good team effort. Brizzle poor at back and in middle but superb up front.

Played 4-4-2 today, with tutte on the right and grant on the left. Looked a bit open at times but much better going forward.

Possession with progression.

To be honest, the whole team was unrecognisable from the shambles of Tuesday. I thought that it was the best team performance I've seen since the home game against the buckets last season.

Ryan Edwards in particular made quite a few mistakes, including giving away a very needless penalty, but Phil Edwards played very well. Suppose it is easy to get the names mixed up when your main team has been slaughtered eh OD???!!!!!

All in all, we fully deserved a win against a very amateurish, and quite dirty (several elbows went unpunished as well as the two players quite rightly shown red) Brizzle team, who could be in for a struggle if that performance is anything to go by. Surely Mark McGee must be under immense pressure if he can't get their squad (which looks sound on paper) to defend better than they did today.

Special mention today for Cavanagh, who never stopped working hard, and Adebola, who led the line magnificently at times, in spite of his obvious limitations. Bobby Grant was unplayable at times, and it was normal service from Tutte & JK after Tuesdays slumbers.

Was very impressed with Brizzles front two and left midfielder who scampered up and down all first half.

Twas a very open game from the kick-off, with our front three not defaulting to 4-5-1 all the time.

At 2-1 the expected shutting up shop didn't occur, there were still a few scary moments which again you have to praise Brizzle for.

Whether we looked much better because Brizzle were intent on attacking is a moot point, I don't care, it was much better from us and a welcomed 3 points to boot.

Slaughtered?? did you not watch the game, we won 2-1, keep up . I thought Ryan Edwards did very well, against a tough striker in Eaves, he was a handful, but I thought Edwards stood up to him for the majority, he recieved the supporters MOTM, so im clearly not the only one to think this. Phil Edwards, I dont understand why so many get on his back, to me he's on of our unsung heroes, plays well, as long as he stays away from defensive midfield.

The front three weren't a front three. Grant was left, Tutte right. They occasionally swapped and both wandered inside too.

It was the first time we've started with a proper partnership up front (Adebola and Gornell) in a long while. And it worked.

Decent enough performance today. The moaning in the stands really needs to stop though, its getting on my tits, Cav took some dog's abuse today yet again from a select few in the sandy, get off the lads back ffs. someone even had the audacity to moan at JK taking the corner which led to the goal, before saying how great it was. it's really gone too far now and its pathetic.

Gornell has the potential to be a good signing for this club, his touch is top class and looks dangerous, shame he didn't cap his performance with a goal.

Personally thought Mcintyre had a poor first half, improved in the second, but it wasn't the best performance he's put in a dale shirt.

Its looking more and more as if Bobby is this teams talisman, when he's in the team, we tend to win. His goalscoring record at dale is quite phenominal, especially as he isn't really deployed as an out and out striker. Keep it up bobby, fire us to promotion!

Better performance from the team today, the crowd needs to improve though, as the moaning isn't helping anybody, this is the makings of a great core of players and even if we aren't successful in getting up this year, we can go again next year with the same core of players, with some added talent and really kick on. The futures bright if you ask me.

Spot on.

Abuse of Cavanagh in the Pearl Street too. Absolutely shocking. He'd do 7 or 8 things well and then one bad pass gets the abuse. He really is the new Joey T.

He's gone beyone Joey T now, yes he had his haters, but it wasn't nearly as bad as cav. like you rightfully said, he does 10 things right, but they're all forgotten as soon as he makes one mistake.

Not justifying any abuse as I can see why he is in the team but I counted 7 occasions today where he lost possession by either trying something too adventurous or not being able to pass the ball a short distance, the worst example being a pass back to Daylay on the edge of our box which ended up going out for a corner.

Definite penalty. If the first challenge hadn't been given then the second should/would/was.

Good all round performance - thought Bennett then JK our best. Ryan Edwards played well but looked knackered.

What an absolute prick their lad was with the red card assault on Grimes.

The worrying thing today was how they bossed the game for a good 15 minutes with only 10 men.

Poll: What is it to be then?
