Absolutely, but not by me. Mick Leach always gave everything, was two footed, could head and tackle - just a shame he didn't have the pace of others, but he could read a game.

I watched Mick progress from the juniors in 1965 and he was ahead of the Morgan twins, Sibley, Hazell and the rest.

My joint all time player, along with Mark "Bunch of fives" Lazarus, for very different reasons.

I really hope we name a stand after him when we move to a new ground, but probably he will get a tea bar instead

I think it was the last game of one of the early 70s seasons when Mick Leach was carried round the pitch on the team's shoulders at the end of the game with the crowd chanting his name. It may have been a bit of irony but he looked delighted.

One of his most memorable performances was he game against Liverpool when Gerry Francis scored 'the goal of the season' - our Mickey scored the first with a very stylish header as I recall.

I'd have to go with Mavis and Olly.

Mavis was actually a decent player and contributed a fair few goals in his time and for someone not blesses with height, scored a few decent goals with his head. I admit I wasn't a particularly big fan of his at the time, probably because he was overshadowed by other "flair" players in the team. But looking back at old season reviews from the early 90's, it was clear that his contribution to the team with his general all round play and his goals tally was important to the Team.

Olly was a grafter, worked his arse off and was like a little terrier in the middle of the park. His tireless work and harrassment of opponents was probably the reason why Wilkins played so well for us.

Leach and Goddard I would certainly agree with here, but my underated nomination would go to Gary Micklewhite. Ran his socks off in the FA Cup replay against Spurs. Always found him a decent player.

There aint half been some clever bastards.

I can't see how any player with international caps can go on the underrated thread as it sort of contradicts itself.

Gary Micklewhite? Of course! he's got to be high on the under-rated list.

Micklewhite to me is the perfect example of the hard-working unglamorous but vital midfield 'water-carrier' as Deschamps was to Cantona (& later in WorldCup'98 for Zidane) and David Price was for Rix and Brady in the 1979 Arsenal FA Cup winning side.

Don't see Paul Goddard as being in any way under-rated.23 goals in 67 QPR appearances is a decent scoring rate.He looked quality from the off and was in no way in Clive Allen's shadows and when WHU came in for him in August 1980 for 1,000,000 quid I was gutted.

Leach's testimonial was v Red Star Belgrade in 1975-76. We played Slovan second round of the Uefa Cup year after.
We also played a testimonial against Moscow Dynamo around that time, I seem to remember it was a McClintock testimonial
