Swansea City v West Bromwich Albion : Match day thread on 18:13 - Jan 4 by jack247 | I hope so Rhondda. People will have to accept that whoever replaces Williams will face the same squad depth handicap that he has all season and has never been more obvious than today. Honestly think heās a dead man walking after he crossed Coleman though. I donāt mind our managers being ambitious and I would expect them to have their head turned by PL clubs or the likes of Leeds and Sheffield United. To bend over for West Brom and disrespect the club while doing it though, is way too much. |
I would like to think that Coleman would be able to sell the club to better potential candidates than he was able to do this time last year. He really is head of the club now and not a puppet. If we fail through lack of ambition and planning there is nobody else he can blame.

Swansea City v West Bromwich Albion : Match day thread on 17:54 - Jan 4 by union_jack | Iād use this game to try out some of the fringe players who are the future and maybe some experience - Naughton, Allen etc. to give them game time. Have some first teamers on the bench but rest as many as they can. I personally donāt care about the cup. Iād rather us be fit and ready for the next league game. Who are we playing by the way?š |
I'd go a step further and play ALL the U21 team. Not a first teamer anywhere, not even the bench. The squad is thin, weak and we need the players to get their mojo back. I don't even care that it's Cardiff next I just don't want the players to continue running on empty. This next fortnight we also need to get some transfer business done to bolster the first team.

Theyād probably fare reasonably well. Iām not sure thatās the totally correct approach but certainly player the ones knocking on the door from the off, Abduoai and Ben ? Fir starters. Pity Parker or Ginnelly arenāt fit enough for it.

Swansea City v West Bromwich Albion : Match day thread on 15:42 - Jan 4 by Whiterockin | Today's game was terrible by two awful side, yes I thought West Brom were awful aswell. Ground was like a morgue apart from the away end. Williams clearly still has a lot of support in the ground much to my surprise. Don't shoot the messenger. |
Because a lot don't read social media

I'm not sure that's right. I reckon the vast majority will use some social media and even those that don't use any will have heard what's gone on. I think it's more a case of the fans just getting behind the team regardless of what's happened.

or making thier own minds up and believing the manager? Bit quite rightly supporting the team despite the noise generated elsewhere

ive never understood why we dislike cup competitions I'd live to win another Wembley final and get to Europe. That day in February 12 years ago was a great one

Swansea City v West Bromwich Albion : Match day thread on 16:25 - Jan 4 by swan65split | LW says "I think we deserved a draw. I don't think there was a huge amount in the game either way. Both teams looked very tired but I think we were value for a point. "Liam [Cullen] has played a lot of minutes and he was starting to look tired, the pitch is heavy, and he'd just started to lose his energy, and Joey Allen is a special player. "Some players are a full-back or a winger or a midfielder, and some are just footballers. Joe Allen is just a footballer. He knows how to handle himself in all different scenarios. He can understand things at a very high level." the last paragraph str8 out of the fishes comment. ...... |
It wasnāt Cullens day. I would have taken him off and left Vipotnik on

Vipotnik was clueless all game and really didn't know what he was doing or where he was supposed to be position wise. Bianchini is a far better option up front. Agreed though Cullen had a poor game.

We needed (once again) bigger player to match a bigger side. If Williams was a pragmatic manager we could have lumped the ball up to Vip and had Bianchini playing off him. Needs must when the devil drives . Cullen was serving no purpose out there whatsoever

Vipotnik rarely wins anything thatās sent his way. Itās a big problem.

I really don't rate him. He pulls up short when closing down, doesn't work the defense, doesn't make runs, can't control the ball and runs around like a headless chicken. He's there because we have limited options.

Thatās a spot on description of him. He looks lazy and lacks awareness.

From what I saw on tv he was a man alone with about 20 yards between himself and the likes of Cullen. He needs better service than that as it makes him look a dick.

I don't do social media as I have sources who are bang on the money and are never wrong. It's these people I trust and and what i heard was hard to believe but after more information it became clear that LW wasn't being totally accurate. He has left a permanent hole for me that will never be healed, the sooner he's gone the better, not just for me but for the club.

I was watching the tv mateā¦limited viewing and not the same as being at the ground. But every time it panned forward there seemed no none near him. Commentary drew my attention to it as well.

I watched him very carefully because I was comparing him to Bianchini in the last two games. I stand by my appraisal of him. We looked better when he went off and to be honest that's not saying much because we were awful.

it would be interesting to see him in a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 with either Cullen or Bianchini It's strange how we seen to scout players and they dont workout for us... Is it because we spot players shining in a team without comparing to how we set up and play? We used to be so successful at finding the gems

I prefer 4-4-2 but I can't see Williams ever playing any way spart from one up front. We really need better recruitment to fit the shape we play.

Or we change the shape we play with what we have. Iād like Cullen to play closer to VIP and Franco as supply. Pipe dream I know but itās got to be better than we are right now.

No player should be left playing on their own it is a team game. He should have support he might then have an idea what to do with the ball when he does get it. Think Bianchini is a better player but against Luton Bianchini came off and Vipotnik came on, today the opposite and yet we scored late in both games because of deeper crosses coming from the left with more players in the penalty area and good balls put back across the six yard box.
