Well, we are looking quite the Tinpot Club right now......the modus operandi of the Club is to play football and have not kicked a ball in anger since 17th Dec on our own midden. If we can beat Stockton next week, will we be praying for an away trip in the next round so soggy Spotty can drain or thaw out?

Tell me about it, I have travelled to Rochdale 3 times so far this season for nothing. Didn't make the same mistake today.
I see that the tickets from today won't be valid and will need to be refunded. Stockton will issue tickets from Monday at their normal prices - which are marginally higher than todays. I can only assume they had little confidence of the game going ahead today and had already agreed with Stockton to switch it as a precaution. I guess their pitch guarantees it will go ahead - Hartlepool a few miles up the road is off due to frozen pitch. It is certainly cold (albeit sunny) in the north east. [Post edited 4 Jan 10:41]

Our last Saturday home league game was on the 9th of November. That will be the only Saturday home league game we’ll have played between 20/10/24 and 25/1/25.
Since beating Halifax on 22/10/24 we have played two home league games in total. The next is scheduled for 15/1/25. 84 days.
Not counting the totally pointless NL Cup, we will have played three home games in the same period.
On the subject of work that took place under previous regimes, by continually referencing this it allows the club to shift the blame and conversation about what we have been able to control in recent times and going forward. Speculating about what is right or wrong with the pitch will remain that until the club decide that supporters deserve to know the full details.
Or until the Trust actually do what they’re supposed to when representing fans and request exactly that. |  |

Problem is people get out of the habit of going to the games. The confusion of the plethora of meaningless games adds to the sense of - yeah whatever.

I was probably thinking of an hiatus in fixtures, ending with a 1-1 draw against Hartlepool; may have been the 78/79 gap
The odd thing i remember is that the gate against Hartlepool was around 1900, which everyone thought was a huge success given our average at the time [Post edited 4 Jan 17:18]

Is there any correlation between the frequency of waterloggings at the COA, and the arrival of a housing development between St Clement's, the Church and the ground?

For the sake of balance, at least the majority of our fans will have bought their tickets digitally and we should be refunded automatically. So maybe, our position is less inconvenient for fans. And we did call it off early enough to avoid travelling. Having said that, the word sorry would be nice. And we still don't know why the club hasn't hired some rain covers to give us a better chance of getting games on. | | | |
