Well what a day.

The take over is off
The Dale get their first win
Nobody has said Lynch was at fault
Nobody has said Morley was poor
Nobody has said Done was shit
Nobody has said Dooley was dog shit

If only I had done an acca on that lot, I could have bought 42% of the club.

Great for the whole team and club today. Two weights lifted. We have shown we can compete. With a little more competition I would feel very optimistic.

The team for Shrewsbury will be interesting. Jack the kit man could be on the bench

Have we got the stomach for another Andrew’s. Kelvin out and Josh in.

A couple of things stuck in my mind from that RS interview.
One was when who he mentioned that he had to dish out a b0llocking at halftime and he wasn’t sure how many were used to that. Makes a change from the blarney.
The other was when he emphasised the importance of setpieces, Hurrah!
Realism at last after three years of the project.

Is there not some sort of record here: 3 players, each scoring his first league goal in the same game for Dale ... ?

It happened one hundred years ago. First ever game Dale 6 accrington 3. sorers dennision, owens and carney all scoring their first goals in football league. Owens and carney playing their first league games. Dennison had played three games for blackburn.

Can’t even work out if that was on purpose.

27th August 1921

Rochdale 6, Accrington Stanley 3

We had 3 players score their first league goals - Reg Owens (3), Harry Dennison (2) and Gene Carney.

There will be others which I might get onto in time.

Loved it when Andrews scored and Odoh and Newby jumped on him and he carried them in his arms

and (unconventionally) he didn't try to sit on the fence about the off-field 'politics' but instead referenced the good news about the cancelled takeover

I know we’re only four games into the season but the league table looks a trifle strange.
No-one would have seen Swindon in a promotion place a month ago.
And Salford one place above the relegation spots with two draws and two defeats.
Gary Bowyer might be getting worried; the Class of ‘92 aren’t shy about sacking managers!
Apparently they “need a decent striker”
And Dale in 15th.

That line about his half time reaction is bloody funny.

Thought exactly the same. Amazing what a difference accountability makes over possession-obesession. And noticeable that it was exactly the 'no-nonsense' half-time talk that earned that victory. Equally poignant that rhetoric is less effective than passion and determination. Good luck City u23s. You're going to need it.
