Which way would you vote in a General Election on 18:27 - Sep 5 by BFC1885
I have voted labour all my life. But I wouldn't vote for Jeremy Corbyn if he was only one on the ballot paper and voting was compulsory on pain of death. The conservatives are in disarray and any decent leader of any opposition party wood be absolutely slaughtering them now, so for me that speaks volumes. Corbyn, Abbott and McDonald or whatever his name is would destroy this country in no time.

Roughly this is what would happen with corbyn. Week 1 companies start moving funds abroad. There will be a run on the pound and inflationary pressures will start. Week 2 anyone who can afford to will look to emigrate, general strike, £10 ph min wage piles more pressure on business and inflation. Week 4 interest rates start their inevitable rise. Unions will demand excessive wage rises because prices are rising. Within 6 months job losses will start to pile up as certain sectors, care homes, nurseries etc cant afford to operate. Mcdonnel then tries to cpo private rented houses causing massive shockwaves in the housing sector. First budget they raise tax to 60% on high earners but then realise that theyve all left! And so it will go on til we’re completely fked then they normally sell our gold but Brown already did that so they will try and raid the pension funds but they will be bust. Its like Bury Fc but on steroids. Remember this in 12 months because I will
A lot of that scare mongering claptrap was spouted on the introduction of the minimum wage.

Universal credit takes less than a month to get, if you are already on benefits, as long as you fill the forms in correctly, and provide the information requested, I know because I have dealt with a load of clients have had to.
When you see someone on tv saying I have been sanctioned, I only get £98 a month or I still have not got anything, i would guess it’s generally because they have not filled the forms in right, have lied, have failed to produce documents and information required or just thought it will get sorted.
I personally think most benefits in the uk are a joke and have no reason to defend them, but the whole universal credit thing is bollocks imho.

Not everyone claiming universal credit is computer savvy, the application is made online. many have learning difficulties, sanctions are applied inappropriately in many cases. New cases can take well over 5 weeks to process. There are many examples out there of vulnerable people suffering extreme hardship because of this

Why would a left of centre government not lead us to being more like one of the Scandinavian countries?
One of the Scandinavian country's, Norway has a word that sums up the remoaners . Quislings. No matter what they say we had a democratic vote to leave the EU. They have had over 3 years to get a deal. Enough is enough. I said I would never vote Tory, but if the Brexit party don't put up a candidate, then Tory it will be. I would NEVER vote for Comrade Corbyn and his communist utopia.

You do of course realise that minimum wages were first legislated in 1909 By Winston Churchill with the Trade Boards Act? I am also guessing that you may not exactly recall that the 1998 National Minimum Wage Act was designed to support those in the lowest-paid jobs such as restaurant workers who largely dependent on tips and was set at £3.60 an hour You might also be interested to know that London Mayor Boris Johnson was responsible for raising the Minimum wage to become the London Living Wage for all City Hall Employees to £7.60, £1.80 an hour more than the Minimum Wage in 2009.

It is a CONSERVATIVE government that has failed to deliver Brexit for the last 3 years. Boris and co. would ensure billions that should be used in the UK economy disappear into off-shore accounts of the super-rich. They will sell out the NHS completely to a wasteful USA insurance system. The Labour party is predominantly funded by its members. Conservative party funded by a very few rich donors.. The unelected 'brains' Dominic Cummings is a disgrace - as the decent Tory MP'S are realising in numbers. As it is, I hope Cummings stays. He is making a right mess of the campaign. Believe in Corbyn. Get hold of the Labour manifesto when it is published. It will not be revolutionary, just fully costed and full of excellent policies to benefit the country as a whole, and areas like ours especially. Boris is in politics for himself and the rich, Corbyn for the people.

He's not a communist. He's a socialist, there is a big difference.

Fooking hell DAlien. The Conservative Party has just as big an issue with Islamophobia but nobody has stooped that low to suggest the Conservatives are Islamophobic.
