How the hell can a group of players go on a run of wins and draws earlier in the season and then pretty much the same group of players then become a complete shambles after Christmas with the same manager, same coaches and backroom staff, playing against the same teams in the same division. Ok, so Rangel and Cameron have been out but that is only 2 out of 11 regular first team players.
I am sure that there has been enough discussion on here about whether changing managers actually brings that much difference to a club that is under financial scrutiny and limitations.
It's not 'Eustace in charge til the end of the season' which suggests appointment will come fairly quickly. If it's a permanent one, will be shocked if it's not Ainsworth, Jackett or Rowett.
Bare bones.

The strategy was never destined to fail - that's just reading history backwards - but the scale of the disintegration this year has been bewildering. Hopefully some insight into what was going on behind the scenes will emerge in the coming days because the manner of it beggars sense.
Hard to trust the club if the populist line they're leaking is that actually they were never okay with the loans and it was all McClaren.
Ainsworth would worry me, not that I don't love the bloke. Really don't like Rowett - another Hughes.

Pompey are on the up - I'd be surprised if KJ would come to us, but I reckon he would be the best option from a safety / track record point of view.
"Thank you for supporting Queens Park Rangers Steep Staircase"... and I thought I'd signed up for a rollercoaster.
I would hate to see the inevitable transition within a year from the universal love of the "Wild Thing" to sarcastic witticisms of "Gareth AintWorthit"

I hope it is not Ainsworth
Purely for Ainsworth sake

Couldn't agree more.
I want Barton, give us someone we can really get our teeth into.

I said this near the start of the season - there was an obvious disconnect there. We changed the scouting system, but signed just one player from it (Leistner). SM was TF's choice, Les had to work with him, but SM wouldn't risk players he didn't already know - which is understandable, but went against the changes the club were trying to make. Still, the loans could've worked short term - a stabilisation, get more minutes into the younger players etc, we're only committed to them financially for one season. And for a while it looked as if that may well work. Now it isn't. Cutting and re-cutting the budget while trying to improve is horrendously difficult. That may catch up with us next season. Relegation looks pretty likely (if it doesn't happen this season).
Bare bones.

After Saturday , the axe had to fall , the club (as well known we are for appointing the right personnel) had no choice , no manager at any self respecting club could keep their job with that set of results behind them !
Who next , fkucd if I know but if it’s someone cos it’s been mooted on messageboards as a fans favourite then I will give up completely

Does anybody think we wouldn't be in the bottom three now were it not for the efforts of the three loanees (I'm struggling to find a fourth) earlier in the season?

Yes I remember this yarn. As credible a bit of fanfic now as it was then.

Holloway and McClaren were both picked by the owners and LH and LF have had to get on with it. JFH you could lay at their door, but the last two managers have both been handed to them, and the case of Holloway handed to them against their wishes.
