New kits around the world 2017/18 18:13 - Apr 27 with 61229 views442Dale

It's been surprisingly quiet on the new shirts from so far, but they should start appearing more regularly now.

Liverpool

Similar to the classic strip from the 70s/early 80s (see below), which is good, however it's let down slightly by the red trim in the collar and the New Balance logo not being in gold like the badge. Verdict: 7/10, always a fan of kits which reflect those used in the past.

Edit: With shorts and socks:

0.5 off the Verdict score for having white turnovers on the socks, especially with the shorts being so plain. Jarring.

Anyone know of any others? Stick them here.

If anyone wants their phone to look like the black and white striped centenary kit of 2007/2008, this company have made a phone case of the kit.

Seems like they're doing one for each club. Shame they've gone with a white and black one for us rather than a blue one.

Tangled up in blue.

Have they not done one in the template of Lincoln's away kit?

Iconic that is.

Some great articles pop up on that site.

Although that Danish shirt was cluttered as hell, it's a brilliant example of how you can get away with going too far.

Why the three stars on the Yeovil crest?

Why the three stars on the Yeovil crest?

Read somewhere that it's one for every five seasons they've been in the league. Why not one for every three years then they could have five stars?

Or just have fifteen and be done with it.

Sunderland (h)

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Sunderland H: some may remember the disdain around our promotion shirt of 13/14 when we employed thinner blue and black stripes, yet he I am saying this shirt is almost magnificent. If we'd have employed those stripes across the entire shirt including the arms then it would have been fine, but we added swathes of black and made it look a right mess. So then we come to Sunderland's biggest mistake... the back is plain red. This trend/rule needs to be made obsolete.
Verdict: front, 8/10. Reverse 2/10. If this is indeed an FA rule now, would the people responsible care to discuss it in detail? Incompetence of the highest order.

Celtic away: brilliant football shirt but makes no sense. It'tolkien providing a great cup of coffee when someone wants a great cup of tea.
Verdict: 9/10 and 1/10. Do. You. Need. Brains. To. Design. Kits?

Sheff Utd

Fantastical. I bet the are some Sheff U fans moaning about the amount of black, but I reserve the right to be a hypocritical pr1ck and say that because it's a predominant third colour it adds to an Adidas template not seen anywhere else yet. That in itself should see some of South Yorkshire slightly happier.
Verdict: 9/10, look at the black trim to the stripes too! Imagine us in blue and black stripes with some white trim upto each stripe. I do, most nights. It helps me sleep.

I think you'll find that most of Celtic's colour clashes are because of the white in their kit rather than green so it's not as brainless as you think. They might need a third kit for the Hibs game but which club these days doesn't have three?

That Sunderland kit will look pink on tv due to the proximity of the strips; the back does indeed look ridiculous.

Most. The rule should be that you can't have a change strip that incorporates any colour of the home kit apart from as trim/shorts (see our red kit).

It's sickening.

That's cool. Especially the detail - the Pony logo was on Matt Le Tissier's kit.

Looks like a road sign.

Or a Mansfield Badge.

Or a Luxury spa logo.
