As you may be aware Led Zeppelin are being sued by the family of former Spirit guitar player Randy California claiming they copied his song Taurus in the famous and very lucrative Stairway to Heaven.
Have a look at this for instance..
So my question is guilty or not guilty?
And yes before any smart alec chimes in I know they have previous in this respect but I'm genuinely interested in what the guitarists on here make of it....

He allegedly turned down Led Zep who then turned to Plant.
His early albums are well worth picking up.
It was Jimmy Page and Chris Dreja he turned down (hardly Led Zeppelin) by any stretch of the imagination. Terry then suggested Page check out Plant who in turn already knew Bonham And there you go , Page already knew John paul jones from his time as a session musician.
But yeah Terry reid turned down Led Zeppelin sounds better , Even if it is complete boll-ocks

Anyway, it turns out that StH rips of Chim Chiminy from Mary Poppins according to Page. It seems he might not be taking this seriously. He says he'd never heard the other song even though they shared a bill on a number of occasions. I think that's a mistake as it stretches credibility and may well lose them the case. In which case everyone will be claiming for everything. What about Jean Genie and Blockbuster. I'm surprised ChinniChap haven't been chasing a bit of bowie estate cash.....or maybe vice versa...I always remember the Sweet being first...
Apparently not thanks to dear old wikipedia. I thought it was too good a riff for chinn and chapman at the time.
Yeah I've read all about it. Dweezil reckons Gail didn't pay up what she owed and Ahmet wants to charge him for playing the music. Moon Unit gets nothing either apparently. One thing he's definitely right about is that he's the only one capable of going out and delivering the goods.

I think he's asking doesn't Plant live near Monmouth. He's not far away I believe he lives in Worcester not far from Kidderminster.
Depends how you define near I suppose. If Newport is near Swansea then yeah. I do know someone who was once a nanny for Ian Gillan. Said he's a right boring bugger in real life. although she did say it with a funny sort of smile...

I didn't say near.

I've told my Gillan story before so I won't bore you with it but I also know someone who slipped his sister a length.
Anyhow, Percy still lives over there, goes to Wolves games.
