Good article for those unaware of the latest going-ons at Gigg Lane in the Bury Times.

Good luck to them.

The bit i like >

Mr Day has put Hundreds and hundreds of thousands of pounds into the club.....

Erm.....

Would have a significant wager thats not entirley true!! His Money?? erm - No.

First intertesting comment on their forum

My main point on all of this is "Where is the money coming from" and "is it sustainable". A high level source told me that this year's loss is now approaching £1.6m - its not the words that I worry about its the substance and financial accountability for racking up substantial debts on getting to the promised land of promotion and higher crowds.

Then later ("Possibilty of shareholders getting a dividend some time in future " seems the most incredulous statement of the lot)

It was stated "one possibly two stands will be rebuilt"
Other snippets.

GT said Day had put "hundreds and hundreds of thousands of pounds" into the club.
"Small minority" trying to stop the club being turned into a business. This was having a negative effect on investment and larger sponsors.

SD said he was hoping to see a 5,000 average attendance at Gigg (He calls it JD).
Cancelling appearance money had saved the club £250,000 this season.
Budget "nowhere near" the top two in the division.
Possibilty of shareholders getting a dividend some time in future.

Nev New made a passionate if somewhat rambling speech praising the new boys claiming they had carried out all their promises made when they took over.

All directors reelected.

Next shareholders meeting set for January 29 when members will be appraised of future plans with architects present along with the management team to discuss on the field issues.

Series of public meetings to follow to give info re way forward.

Efforts to adjourn meeting failed early doors.

Can't comment on the bacon butties - didn't have one.

I bet Stewpot is a cracking poker player.

FB: We are going to oppose you reducing our power to oppose you
SD: Have a seat on the board
FB: We are going to support you reducing our power to oppose you

So the shares will be diluted, FB will be in no position to challenge future decisions, their director will get to watch while Nero fiddles.

Their one chance and they blew it, at least they will have a director to tell people exactly how they are being screwed whilest having no power to stop any of it. Well, the bits she is made aware of, of course.

Sad day for them.

The lack of actual answers to valid questions from supporters/members on that page and the subsequent one need to be assessed against the organisation's own aims.

If you're going to go on there to enjoy the "well done" posts, then at least expect questions to be asked which should be replied to better than telling supporters/members who ask to wait until January.

In full on Columbo mode, just one more thing....

Have a look at this weather. It's a good job Bury spent money on their pitch this summer, they wouldn't want a game to affected by a pitch that doesn't drain so well.

How do R11. There is a very highly regarded journalist who makes it his life's mission to investigate finances of football clubs for the papers - possibly The Guardian. He's called David Conn!

If you want an expert to unravel the big ball of wool your club has become, you should get in touch with the appropriately named Conn, and he might investigate it for you for free.

You might think such a big fish wouldn't be interested in bury, but I happen to know he was educated at bury Grammar, so if I were you, I'd be getting in touch!

What made you edit a 'smiley'?

Did you make the mouth incline more?!

Seems odd that a few days after my suggestion DC publishes his report when others claim he's been looking into it for months.

Word is, a Daley keeps in touch with DC on tvvatter and gave him a prod, so to speak.

I know you're one of the worried ones who is genuinely concerned, despite hostility from the ostrich lot. Keep going in your quest for the truth and good luck!

Cheers Raz.

It's fairly common knowledge (on TFF, etc) that Conn has been looking into things to a greater or lesser degree for months. Timing...who knows? Personally, i would have waited until after the Jan AGM...what's another 2 months after nearly 2 years?! Think we're fooked anyway.

UTS & DTD.

Oh and re the smiley got confused and pressed none of them!
