The Bury AGM on 17:09 - Nov 4 by ColDale | like I said, if everything was open and above board, surely things would have been sorted a long time ago. Seems like a nice little pat on the head and massaging the egos is enough to placate people. |
So are Forever Bury going to the Bury Times with an update? And what about this: "The Board of Forever Bury would like to ask any of our members who are shareholders to try and get down to the AGM to have their voice heard and play a part in blocking this proposal but if you are unable to attend then please fill out a proxy form naming Forever Bury as the proxy. All proxy forms need to be at the club before 9.00am on Monday so please try and get them sent ASAP or drop them off on Saturday at the match." Shareholders may have made FB a proxy and yet there's a change in the situation!

How ironic if the main board proposal is blocked after the unofficial agreement to "move forward positively" has seemingly been reached. Perhaps we'll have ballot papers disappearing? It's getting better by the minute!

Given the awkward time of the meeting, there will be shareholders who have passed on their vote to FB only to find out that FB will now be voting against their wishes. Couldn't make it up.

I do get the feeling that those in positions of power at Forever Bury are as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Day and Thomas will have sold the dream, promised increased involvement for Forever Bury, and it's been lapped up and seen as a victory for their members. If only the Forever Bury board representatives would take a step back and ask themselves why messrs Day and Thomas have decided to talk now?!?! The day before the AGM and off the back of a strongly worded statement issued by Forever Bury encouraging all and sundry to stand up against the proposals. I fear for the fans of bury more now than I did when the AGM and proposed changes to articles were first announced. Regardless of any reasonable turnout, Forever Bury supporting Day, Thomas et al is already a majority vote.

The Bury AGM on 07:58 - Nov 5 with 2639 views | aleanddale | Couldnt make this up. Bury Football Club is a bigger circus than the one Billy Smart used to run!! But they have the JD Money and Walter Mitty Day. let them lap it up. I feel sorry for the decent fans but not the ones with delusion of grandeur.

The question was asked on how are we affording the current squad with our average gates of about 4k, we have received third party investment and it was stated we are in a very healthy financial position. Another meeting planned for end of jan, when accounts will have been finanised, with plans in place for redevelopment of main stand, which hasn't been much of a secret. Can't really question much about whats happening on pitch as we playing some top stuff, good young side. It's pretty clear there is money there from somewhere as decent players follow cash, thats the only reason we have been able to sign the squad we have now.

£250k saved in abolishing appearance money. However, your accounts that will be discussed at the next general meeting in January will be at least a year out of date and will in no way demonstrate the reality of your cash position.

The reality on burys cash position can't be that bad, playings wouldn't have been queuing up to sign in summer and we wouldn't have been able to afford the players we signed. I think the account will be to april 2014 so won't be that far out.
The Bury AGM on 13:29 - Nov 5 with 2075 views | Daley_Lama | From that I take it that the answer is "no" The question should have been asked as follows. How much did we borrow, can you show independent evidence that the full amount went into the Bury FC bank account, if not, why shouldn't I think that it is a scam and you are bleeding money out of the club to a company that appeared from nowhere and therefore persons unknown. If you asked that however, you would probably be taken out to the car park and asked which bit of it you would like to buy (aka get introduced to)

The cash has been boosted by loans. Loans that you are using to repay the, erm, loans plus interest. Players were "queuing" up to sign for clubs all over the country, not just at bury.

neither Chesterfield nor Notts County struggled to sign players. Nowt wrong with money from a 3rd party, but the problem with any investment is the that investment expects a return - hence the ground being used as collateral. There's an argument that can justify investing in a Championship club given the returns the Premier League brings, but a step up to League One only brings with it extra financial woe rather than it being a financial promised land.

250 k saved by not paying appearance money? Did they even have 250k spare in the past couple of seasons to pay for appearance money? I've saved 250k this year by not buying a Lamborghini. [Post edited 5 Nov 2014 13:46]

What is the matter with you people!! The club is being leveraged to the hilt. Your football club is being used as a vehicle for security to borrrow money....for whom we don't know and they're trying to make it difficult for you to find out. For the love of God will you stop chasing the bones they throw. Shareholders dividends my ass.

To be fair, you didn't spend on a Lamborghini last season, whereas bury probably paid appearance money. But a good point about the cash not being there in the first place, overdraft/payday loans/cash generator/butty van corporate partnering funding or not.

To be fair they have got the JD Money!. Its scary how many are being taken in and lapping it up.. i am a little bored of them now so am dipping out of this saga. I recon the proof of the pudding will be the start of the season August 2018. Thats when it will all look quite rosey or Gigg will be Aldi and FC bury will be lining up at Stainton park!!.

Why do you think 'playings' were queuing up to sign in the summer? To look at the geet big scoreboard?
