I know Brentford took a chance on him, but I don't think there was anything at the time to suggest that he would be a success. He had little knowledge of the English lower divisions and his time as a manager in Norway didn't make him stand out particularly. Had we or Bury gone for him, it would have been based on an assumption on his City connections. Which ironically is what we did anyway. |  | | |

I believe he applied, did not get an interview or even a response from the club. Rosler said this on TalkSport a bit back and also heard this from a Brentford based mate - Having said that I guess if we had 100 plus applications I don't see replying to all as a necessity anyway. |  |
