Now Tottenham Want Ward Prowse !

It seems that Tottenham Hotspur want to become the new Liverpool by signing up half of our squad, if I was a Spurs fan I would be questioning their club's ambition or at least the motives of their manager.

It has been reported that James Ward-Prowse has emerged as a shock target for Tottenham Hotspur, Jose Mourhinho seems determined to revamp the whole of his midfield and having signed one Saints player is now said to covet another.

But if he signed the Saints captain then he would have to offload as he would be top heavy in midfielders with not only his the new number one Superstar of North London Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, but also the likes of Harry Winks, Dele Ali, Erik Lamela, Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko, Tanquy NDombele, Giovani, Lo Celso & Ryan Sessegnon, that is a lot of midfield talent & Ward Prowse having just signed a five year deal at St Mary's would cost a lot more money than Hojbjerg.

Mourinho seems to have lost the plot in the past few years, at Real Madrid he won the League but could not get past the semis in the Champions League, a return to Chelsea saw him win the League cup and the Premier League in his second season and then leave by "Mutual Consent" 16 games into his third season just months after signing a new four year deal.

His time at Manchester United saw him win both the League cup and Europa League in his first season, but he could get nowhere near the Premier League title and in his third season he was sacked by United just before Xmas 2018.

He bided his time and was appointed Spurs boss last December, there is no doubt that he is one of the great managers, but his past is way behind him, he is no longer the go to guy to win a title, having won only 2 in the last 10 seasons, the last 5 years ago.

At Manchester United his arrival was shrouded in controversy when he persued Jose Fonte a client of his close friend Jorge Mendes and was allegedly almost sacked by the club as they smelt something rotten going on.

At Spurs it seems he is willing so buy buy buy, spending almost £60 million in the January transfer window, but there are questions of whether Spurs have the money to do much business this window without some big sales.

Saints are not likely to sell Ward Prowse unless they get a massive offer they can't turn down and Spurs don't have the money for that, so unless Dele Ali fancies a move to the South Coast then it is hard to see how they can do business with us, also James Ward Prowse is not Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, a player whose head can be turned by an agent that senses money to be made, not to mention that five year deal signed just a week or so ago.

This one seems to be lazy journalism by those looking to find a headline in a slow week, the same headlines that still link us with every right back in Europe despite the fact that we have just signed Kyle Walker-Peters and still have Yan Valery.
