Dale striker George Donnelly has today left the club and signed for Tranmere Rovers, with Dale receiving a fee for his services.
In what will go down as one of the most surprising deals of the day, Donnelly leaves the club and has signed a two year contract with the Merseyside club.
Donnelly joined Dale in 2012 for a fee of about £50,000 and has had a mixed time since then. His contract was extended during the Summer due to a clause entitling him to another year should he wish, but with a change of squad number, it was felt that the extension wasn't something that would have happened had the club been given a choice.
He leaves Spotland having played 86 games for Dale with a return of 13 goals.
