What I.Saw: Would You Invest Money In This?

Like a World Cup Penalty, we missed and lost.

Another match for the Rams consigned to the annals of disappointment which we seemingly build with downhearted pride.

At least we all managed to observe a minutes silence impeccably.

The game itself we should have won.

Craig Bryson luckily finding Conor Sammon with a deflection he knew nothing about. Luck which was cancelled out by the Ipswich keepers post that was unerringly hit by Sammon.

Indeed the goalpost was having an abusive day as Jamie Ward kicked it in despair after Scott Loach’s legs kept out Ward’s “straight down the ground in the middle” penalty following Richard Keogh being deemed to have been pushed at the back of the box.

Add in an goal which was rightly or wrongly disallowed for offside, a decision tighter than the proverbial drum, and the scene was set for Mick McCarthy’s side to steal all three points.

And they did, Carlos Edwards was allowed to run and run at the home side before rifling an unstoppable shot into the back of the net to earn the Tractor Boys their win in the third minute of stoppage time.

Did they deserve it, possibly not but had we, Derby, had a single shot of such power and quality on target then we wouldn’t have lost.

Time to reflect!

Four straight penalties missed. Midfield eunuchs with not a tackle to be seen between them and a strike force whose ability to hit a cow’s posterior with a musical instrument comes into question.

Question would you invest your money in this? Would you pay more for the same seat next year as a supporter? Would you even renew your Season Ticket?

The answers I fear will soon become clear.
