Dale boss John Coleman has continued his revolution of the Dale squad by agreeing terms with his former captain Peter Cavanagh on a free transfer from Conference winners Fleetwood Town.
Cavanagh was Coleman's captain for many years at Accrington in a hugely successful spell in which he lifted many a trophy during his time with Stanley. He made over two hundred appearances for them, popping up with a ratio of a goal every ten matches.
He was forced to take time out from football following a suspension picked up for placing a £5 accumulator bet, before returning to football with Fleetwood Town who he helped lift the Blue Square Premier title achieving league football for the first time.
Right back Cavanagh has agreed a twelve month deal with the club, and it is expected will be given squad number two.
