Dorus De Vries says he is looking forward to this week's trip to Holland

The Swansea City goalkeeper will go back to his homeland with the Swans for their pre-season tour as they look to complete their preparations for the season opener at Hull a week on Saturday.

And he believes that the tour is the perfect tonic for the Swans as they work with their new manager following another summer of change at the Liberty.

Speaking to the Evening Post, De Vries said "The last time we went there it was a very good week — we learned a lot during that trip and bonded well

"We have three good workouts in the week, along with the training we will be doing.

"It is about building momentum and ensuring partnerships between the players get stronger.

"We have had a couple of new players come in and we are getting used to each other around the pitch.

"It is a good opportunity to get to know the gaffer more, and the other way round.

"He has made a very good impression already with the players.

"So with all that, I think we will be in perfect shape for the start of the season.

"The big test is against Den Haag," added de Vries, who kept a clean sheet in the weekend friendly win over Cheltenham.

"It will be great to play at their stadium, particularly with the link between the clubs and supporters.

"They are in the top level in Holland and have some very strong players.

"The last time we played them at the Liberty (in 2008) it helped us kick off a great season in the Championship."
