Bloody hell. All those missed chances - Dykes, Chair, Sinclair, probably more - let's just sign a striker. Bloody board too mean to sign a striker. Bloody Les wouldn't recognise a striker if he saw one in the mirror. Bloody Beale obviously useless - bound to be relegated if he stays in charge. Bring back Charlie, bring back Gallen. Why can't they be ambitious - sign Ronaldo. There's dozens of 20 goal a season strikers hanging out in the lower leagues, just go and sign them or at least one.

I think that summarises where we're going wrong. On the other hand we played some decent football, Roberts looked good in patches, Laird showed more of his potential, Chrissy is a hero. Our defence is pretty solid. Chair had his best game for a while, energetic, all over the pitch and moving the ball more quickly, especially a lovely one-two to release Willock for the goal.

The quality of our passing all over the pitch was much better and we played on the front foot. Much less pissing about at the back. Like Tuesday night the goal we conceded was a bit unlucky (IMHO) the block just falling nicely for the Rotherham lad and shouldn't have been a free kick anyway. I also thought the Laird penalty appeal was never going to be given. He went down too easily.

But we do need to learn how to score goals. Armstrong has potential, but today's game showed how much he has to learn - first touch, awareness of other players, passing aren't good enough even if he does have pace, strength and commitment. Onwards and mid -table here we come.

I like to think my mini- match report is interesting and have always been intrigued that it sometimes appears twice, but now it's there in triplicate. Is this my Samsung tablet playing up, Clive's website or some mysterious KGB plot to undermine the Western world?
