I think we'd get raped down our right if we play Bosingwa and Hoilett. Baines and Pienaar would have a field day. I know we're at home and want to attack, but I think that could be suicide.

I don't know why lots of people (Hughes included) think that players with attacking attributes like Bosingwa and Hoillet will leave us exposed. They are professionals and all they have to do is be discplined, hold their positions and choose the appropriate moment to break forwards, make a run etc and when to stay back. Sure we might get caught on the break occasionally, but that can happen whenever you lose the ball unless you are sitting in 2 banks of 4.

Hoilett and Bosingwa aren't particularly disciplined, though. Hoilett especially. We'd be leaving ourselves massively exposed down the flanks, against a very good team, by playing both Hoilett and Taarabt out wide. There's a case to be made for Hoilett playing centrally but personally I think it's too risky to play him and Taarabt on each flank. Everton have probably the best left side in the division.

Sod that, they are getting paid a huge amount of money and discipline is not some intangible natural attribute - it can and should be worked on in training by the manager and coaching team.

Team For Sunday on 12:15 - Oct 19 with 2630 views | THEBUSH | It's almost impossible to tell what Hughes team will be for Sunday, I don't think anyone has managed to pick one of his teams correctly. Obviously one of the reasons has been injuries, but for me Hughes main reason has been he doesn't know what our best team is. For me, I would love to see both, Zamora and Cisse playing on Sunday.

There are 2 ways to nullify that though, either sit back and make sure you defend (try to anyway) or put them on the backfoot. Pin Baines back in his own half with Hoilett to occupy him. We are at home, I would rather have them worrying about our attacking RW than the other way around. Also playing M'Bia or a holder etc means in theory he can slip into the RB space as insurance if Bosingwa does leg it up the wing. I dont think this is what will happen though. With a penchant for SWP and all the talk from Bowen about defensive shape etc I expect us to play SWP or Park on the right and try not to lose first and foremost

Why would he drop Taraabt. Scored in the last 2 games and Hughes praised him as our best player against West Brom. It would be completely bizarre and very damaging to Adel's frame of mind to then be dropped.

When do any of Hughes' decisions make any sense? Fully expect us to set up 10 behind the ball and very compact. Simply we can't afford to lose. Taarabt & Hoilett off the bench if we're chasing the game.

That's true, but we aren't going to draw 0-0, so a score draw or win are what we should be aiming for. Without Taraabt that ain't going to happen.

Perhaps that's our problem, we are worrying too much about the other team. Let's concentrate on what we have and go for it, he who dares wins. Cesar, Bos, Mbia, Nelson, Traore Taarbs, Granero, Faurlin or Diakite, Hoillet Zamora, Cisse
Team For Sunday on 14:38 - Oct 19 with 2410 views | MerthyrHoop | First things first, even though we are the home team, I think we should look to negate the threat of Everton's better players. I would suggest a defensively-capable right-winger to track the overlapping runs of Baines, a quick centre-back to cover the movement of Jelavic, and before injury, I would have said a strong physical defensive-midfielder to sit on Fellaini. With Fellaini missing, I think we can look to include a lightweight option in Faurlin in that deeper role and try to boss it with possession. With that in mind, my team would be: Cesar Bosingwa, M'Bia, Nelsen/Hill (based on jetlag), Traore Granero, Faurlin Park, Taarabt, Hoilett Cisse I would pick Cisse based on the defensive partnership of Jagielka and Distin/Heitinga, who I suspect would much rather Zamora taking the ball to feet with his back to goal. The beauty of a Park/Taarabt/Hoilett attacking trio is their ability to pick a pass for someone on the shoulder of the last defender...not really Bobby Zamora's biggest strength. Subs: Green, Onuoha, Hill/Nelsen, Diakite, SWP, Mackie, Zamora

Agreed, as much as he is a liability I want to see Diakite start.
Team For Sunday on 15:24 - Oct 19 with 2360 views | BAWHoops | .....................Cesar.............. Bosingwa....Nelsen...Ferdinand....Traore ..............Diakite....Mbia................ ..................Granero........................ Hoilett..............................Taarabt ...................Cisse........................... 4213 I don't think Diakite has the discipline to be a holding mdifielder, but he was at his most successful last season alongside Derry. That enabled him to run with the ball. Granero provides the guile in the middle, Mbia the steel and Diakite the thrust. It will also toughen us up against a strong Everton team. What's vital is that the front 3 move around a lot. When Granero brings thw ball forward he needs someon making a run for him to pass to. However Hughes will play .......................Cesar.................... Bosingwa....Nelsen......Ferdinand...Traore .......................Mbia...................... ...............Park...........Granero............ SWP.......................................Taarabt ......................Zamora....................... And we will scrape a 1-1 draw. as the only person asking questions will be Taarabt due to the fact Granero has nothing to build his play from
