It was bound to come to a end, I think the best team won! Am I upset yes as I always am when we get beat, but if anyone had said we would be in this position after the boro game I'd have thought them mad! So I'd say let's keep things in perspective, this was a reality check but there's nothing wrong with dreaming! Personally I think we should build for next season and anything else is a bonus! COM ON U,RSSSSSSSSS!
AND WHEN I DREAM , I DREAM ABOUT YOU AND WHEN I SCREAM I SCREAM ABOUT YOU!!!!!
Still plenty of games/points to win. There was a little scuffle at the end of the match. Our boys are up for it, they’ve got a taste for winning.
Thought from early on whoever scored first would win it. Fwiw thought although he battled gamely Frey rarely made the ball stick. First 40 mins bossed it they looked awful but we didn't score. 2nd half tactical change we couldn't get the 2nd ball out from the back and didn't use the long ball cos it weren't sticking. Agree subs a little late and Smythe looked knackered. Downhearted? Not at all, basically SW did to us what we've done to others. 2 evenly matched teams, they scored first.
Paterson also did a number on us. When he got Chair booked by blatantly shoving him off the ball and then went down clutching his face in the ensuing run and tussle down the line I had a bad feeling. The 5ft 7 Chair would have needed a chair to elbow the 6ft tall Paterson.
Just not our day. We looked jaded and they made it really hard to break through their lines.
Our dead ball deliveries were not at their best either so we couldn't get enough pressure on Wednesday. We didn't get enough players in and around their box so Frey was isolated..
Still I think most of us would have taken six points from this week. And we're still on track.
I noticed today we changed our corner routine from hitting it long and heading the ball back into the 6 yard box to duking it out with corners into the box, a plan that was doomed from the get go with the size of Owls defenders no matter who was taking the corners. A very poor ref didn't help our cause today and before the game I learned that the ref assessor today was former Norwich player Mark McGwire? sp. who was in the team that beat us, and cost us the 1st. Division title. Ominous portents indeed.
Just back in Lowestoft, feel the same, had Paals free kick gone in it may have been different. Players just a bit off the pace after a tough week. Had we drawn both the away games and won today we would have been chuffed and have one less point!
favourite cheese mature Cheddar. FFS there is no such thing as the EPL
Agree with pretty much everything that’s been posted, definitely off it in the second half and looked jaded! Can’t believe Smyth didn’t go off, looked absolutely exhausted, We need to improve our delivery on set pieces and beat the first man .Milwall next week! Cmon U Rs

Lets just spell it out our corners are sh*t and have been for years now .How many times have other teams broke away and have goal chances in our end after another floating fcuking moon ball .Thats even if it clears the first guy which 9 times out of 10 it does not Andy Sinton said come on Keneth lets clear the first head and fcuk me he landed it straight on his forhead which even caused Sinton to actually go silent . Chair has been useless at corners for years .Paal is equally horsesh*t (the free today and ONE corner not withstanding) yet he runs back and forth across the box taking them like something good is about to happen but every QPR fan on the planet knows its too long ,too short ,into the keepers hands or the biggest crime of all directly out of play .I give up
One win all season against top ten sides tells its own story.
Wednesday dictated the pattern of the game from start to finish. Very good side, well managed, probably only a centre forward away from being a top six side.
Disciplined physicality and pace is the name of the game these days, we’re getting there but the left side is a concern.
For me there was a bit too much passing around the back 4. I think their first goal was the result of one sideways pass too many. Some of Nardi’s roll outs gave me heart failure.
We had our chances though-their keeper made a decent save and Paal’s free kick came back of the bar. 3 inches lower and it goes in.

We ran out of energy in the second half.
Onwards and upwards.
Was going to happen.
Again it's about bouncing back immediately
Let's hope so
Think trips to both ends of the country, there was going go to be some fatigue
We were lethargic, although I heard MC say it was nothing to do with tiredness, I'd say it was a factor, that and Wednesday appeared to have done their homework and pretty much broke up every move we made. They need a couple of days off, head out on the lash tonight, get laid, lie in bed all day tomorrow, they'll be right as rain come Tuesday.
There’s no way he would let that reasoned logic get in the way of his Marti, Chair and QPR hatred cult.
You really make me laugh, sir - though, for clarity, not with mirth! As for 'cults', you've clearly founded your own - a cult of resentful conformity!
I think the main thing that balanced posters will take away from hate-fuelled posts like yours is how your (i) obsession with me and (ii) self-appointed role as the board's shampooed caricature artist (see (i)) just make you embarrass yourself.
1st half was a stalemate, I think we expected them to play 3 at the back and both teams set up for a mid block. Game was far more suited to Kolli than Frey, especially as we were not prepared to go long. Our left side was dysfunctional all game, Fox, Paal, Field and Chair. As good as I Thought Paal was at Hull Patterson out muscled him and he was very poor today.
2nd half game went how I thought it might, Morgan tired Bannon took over again. Colback weakened us in midfield. Lloyd was the wrong choice IMHO. We looked very leggy especially Dunne and Smyth and the goal came from a tired Dunne mistake.
I dont think our game smarts were great today especially the back 4 and the goal kicks, it clearly was not working and even Marti was screaming at them to go more direct and we kept playing ourselves into trouble or giving the ball away poor leadership from Fox at the back for me.
Run was always going to come to an end, I thought 2-0 Wednesday before the game, they are a bogey team for us and Marti.

Classic rope a dope from Weds, plus we made the wrong subs and we made them too late. It was nearly 10 mins to get the first three on after they stripped and that appeared to be problematic in its own right, perhaps unsettling players not knowing if they were coming off.
In terms of attack, I think we had three attempts on target and they were defenders. Edwards and Paal from memory.
Frey was back to his ‘clunky’ running again and should have been subbed at half time or shortly after for some pace and guile. Chair should have been taken off earlier too.
Would it have made a difference - we will never find out but I feel we were out-thought and then out-played as a result. Could have just as easily gone the other way with a bit more nouse.
Maybe the coaching staff were also tired from travel and had limited planning for this game compare with others. We had a strong bench but we didn’t use it very well or at the right time.
Here’s hoping we plan and execute better for Millwall because it’s likely to be more of the same from them in terms of physicality.

Really enjoyed the first half, thought it was the best quality game at Loftus Road for a good while, two well matched teams.
I said at half time I’d barely noticed Barry Bannon was playing which was a pleasant surprise, but they came out for the second half and looked sharper and more up for it, have to say it was a deserved victory. They’re a big physical team alright, apart from that irritating Scottish git, and the big man Smith who came on made a real difference.
Few of our players look tired now, Smyth should probably have been subbed as he was blowing after an hour (understandable).
Thought Paal had another good game aside from the crap free kicks.
Maybe not a bad thing the crazy optimism of this week gets punctured, we’re an improving team but we’re not a great one yet
Think there is a clear reason for that. Kieran Morgan was next to Bannon for the first half and the early bits of the second, then wasn't. Probably a fitness thing, but hardly going to blame anyone after the run we've been on.
We weren't that bad over the first 16 games and weren't that good over the last 13. It'll balance out to around where we are now...

That worked in 1973. Unfortunately it's not 1973 anymore Boston !!
For me, it was a game of two halves. In the first, although we didn't create enough chances, I felt we were in control for most of the time. It changed in the second with Wednesday playing further up the pitch. We found it difficult to get through them and they kept the initiative.
In truth, Rohl got the better of Cifuentes again.
It will be very interesting to see how we do next Saturday. Will we slump or bounce back?
Hilarious how Chair got booked for a shove on a 14 stone giant, yet they continually went through the back of us, almost decapitated Smyth twice and yet the awful ref did nothing. Not why we lost though.
He didn't seem to think that he could book players in orange, did he?
Horrible, team roratin niggly fouls amongst them As soon as they noticed the ref was weak as pss, they just carried on and on.
Preston like timewasting too. Seven mins was light, but even in that spell Bannon took a minute to get off the pitch and they still blew up exactly on 7.
No complaints as we would not have scored all night, but they are truly horrible.

Our corners have been dreadful for so long. i reckon 1 in about 6 or 7 clear the first man. Anderson seems to be the only who knows how get flight on the ball from a corner. Ilias is shocking, they're all shocking - really irritates.

Whilst I agree (hate it) and sympathise - we have all got to realise that this is now the norm for behaviour and find a better way to deal with it.
We’ve also done it in some games when it suits us so we are not exactly whiter than white either. We don’t cheat but we do stretch the rules in our favour to break up play if we are ahead or want to stop momentum.
The older players need to start having the right words at the right time with the Ref. I don’t think the Refs support/favour either team when they start the game but they do shift their decisions to the team that influences them most because they aren’t particularly good/secure/strong and very few seem to have played the sport so they naturally follow what they get told by senior professionals that have. Natural human behaviour - whether we like it or not.
Cook coming back will help. Watch how he talks to the ref, he’s measured and makes his points quickly. Dunne will learn how to do the same eventually as will a couple of others.
It won’t completely fix the issue but it does counter the crap and the other teams know that too. Yesterday, they took full advantage of the fact that we didn’t have anyone fighting our side with the ref - in the right way.
Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Millwall will do exactly the same - we need to find a way to deal with instead of continuing the banging of that head against the brick wall.
It’s like the old joke….
Doctor, doctor - it hurts when I do this - well, don’t bloody do it then !

This - plus Varane came off two minutes before they scored and he wasn’t tired - in fact, he looked pretty pissed off to be subbed.
His job is to sit and break up attacks, which he does effectively. That’s helped us with our defence massively at times when we needed the extra protection.
Morgan’s role is more attacking, which kept Bannon busy for a while.
So we took both Varane and Morgan off…doesn’t make sense, does it ?

When Paal was told to deliver to the far post, it did it nearly every corner previously and we headed it back into the danger zone.
So this game we switch that tactic to shirt corners and hitting the first man.
And then we let Chair start taking them. Ok, better than Captain floaty Madsen but that’s a seriously low bar.
WTF is that all about ? Over adjusting because they have big defenders ?
We have some fairly big, decent headers ourselves that I would back - if the ball went into the mix a few times more occasionally. Edward’s nearly scoring was a pretty big clue FFS.

And as for the pre match analysis of them being weak on crosses….did no one listen to that in prep ?
