If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs 09:09 - Jan 19 with 5494 viewsnumptydumpty

Would you want that ???

For me, an emphatic NO...

If the playing fields were much more even, then absolutely yes, but it could do to us like what has happened to Luton and many others.

We are on the crest of a wave currently - and I want that to continue for as long as is possible.

Yes this scenario is very unlikely to happen but just wondered what others thought.

It's amazing what's happening at the moment but the Leicester game who have lost seven in a row in the premiership shows the gulf.

Just wondering what others think ??

Great point Dave.

Can see that absolutely.

I would just be wary it could all be destroyed by going up too early, replacing our own exciting talent by bringing in premier league players who some would just be here for the money like previously and it could then destroy our future seasons.

Am just enjoying where we are currently.

But like others have said hope that we don't do what Southampton have done and can achieve a la Brentford or Brighton.etc

Yes and agree younger fans won't have the memories of the charlatans that came here in our last two very challenging attempts at the prem. Probably my thoughts affected by the past but yes I think we are a different club altogether now, i would hope.

Play off Final Alfie Last minute winner !!!

If that happened I do believe Alfie himself would self combust !!!

But no harm dreaming !!!

Happily go up, take the Prem money, and happily come back down again.

Id happily go up, take the money, and happily stay up if we can.

I dont watch the Prem for two reasons. One, because we're not in it. Two, because it seems like a circus and a far cry to what i remember Division 1 used to be.
But im bored of playing the likes of Preston , Swansea, Bristol etc. I want to play against Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs.
Anyone who thinks we shouldn't be aiming for the top league needs to give their head a wobble.
When we dropped back into the championship the buzz word was 'Consolidate '. Consolidate in the championship with billionaire owners (because that's what we have) and then build again and have a proper go at the the prem.
Unfortunately, those owners have been a bunch of useless tw@ts despite all the money they have , and we've now been fighting relegation in the championship for nearly a decade.
Our manager and players will be looking at promotion. We should be too.

Tell Bournemouth with crowds of 10k plus, it doesn’t work or Brentford with 18k, Fulham have akso stabilised in the Prem, done sensibly, it can work out!

Yep. This. 100%

Its the owners holding us back.

I get the sentiment, the Premier League is a horrible thing and following a club like ours in it is a slog, but we can't on the one hand kick the club for not taking the FA Cup seriously while on the other say we don't want to go up. Sport is meant to be about winning, achieving. Of course we should want to go up.

If we go up via the playoffs, Marti will immediately be lured away up by another club. Failing that, he will be sacked part-way into the first disastrous PL season. Whichever way, it ends in tears. So no thanks, I don't wish for it.

Wow! With adverse prognostications like yours, you could give Nostradamus himself a run for his money!

Poll: Keep our 12 game pts return going, and it's a 73 pt finish! Playoffs?

I want us to win every game, so we could end up (miracles do happen, maybe?) being promoted, but I don't want a season in the Prem where we lose almost every game.

Some teams are clever and plan for the 3-4 years:
yr 1 get promoted,
yr 2 use prem money carefully but prob get relegated
yr 3 get promoted with a stronger squad
yr 4 having used 3 years of prem money (2 hrs in prem + 1 yr parachute) we have a much better squad and stay up. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

This may have been the Burnley model somewhat messed up by Company leaving, but still likely to get promoted again.

Bloody hell , after the Boro game everyone thought we were going down , now the talk of playoffs!!! It's good to dream though and personally I'd love to go up via the playoffs.

AND WHEN I DREAM , I DREAM ABOUT YOU AND WHEN I SCREAM I SCREAM ABOUT YOU!!!!!

Take the money and run

This. A season of mostly misery but if used wisely could really set us up.

Of course. I want us to go up, no question. What to do when we get there is up for debate but actually wanting to get there is a no brainer.
