QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread 12:27 - Dec 19 with 23943 viewsWilkinswatercarrier

OK, here we go again, match thread 4!

Does it feel like we have been playing Preston for an eternity? Will John Inman be crying into his Cosmopolitan at the end of the game? Will QPR continue to grind out the wins to keep us all in the Christmas spirit?

The Ancient Alien Astronaut theorists say 'YES' again!

A week off, key players back, and a 3pm KO. Preston also 1 win in 11, I think, but loads of draws. 2-0 Rangers (if we turn up).

We deserved that with bells on. Never gave up looking for the winner. Well done my team.

Go fvck off back up north you horrible sh1tty little team. Constantly shirt pulling and tripping up players. Fvcking hate Preston.

And whinging about it…you forgot the constant winging about every single little decision

Wow, well done my team.

Ref, weak as p*ss all game, finally found a pair. Great 2nd half - there is a bonded squad there, you could see it clearly.

MOTM, tough one for Clive this. Morgan, Varane, even Paal. Coin toss for me. But then there's Jimmy, we all love Jimmy.

I'm going for Morgan.

Enjoy your evening fellow R's.

Merry Christmas one and all.

What a win!! What a player Kieran Morgan is! MOTM by a mile was everywhere today and should of had 2 assists easily. Class performance

It doesn't matter who the manager is. Preston always a nasty bunch. Must be a coaching requirement

Great win,if there was ever a "character" that was it. Scoring so soon in the 2nd half set it up and thought Kholli deserved that as he was our best player in that 1st half.
After his goal we just kept on pushing, and when Field missed that hance I really thought that it wasn't going to be our day.
And then we had the double save...
Then a superb cross from Chair and Jimmy at the back post, a lovely goal.
Hard to pick a MOTM as there were so many decent performances.Thought Fox was immense when he came on, and being a left footer made it seemed we were better balanced. Varane, Smyth, Field and Dunne all good but for me it was Morgan, had a great game, this kid as got it all
Fantastic win, spoiled by the Cook incident and there is no justice, for that to happen to such a player

I was hoping Marti would play Morgan along with Varane and Field a few games ago and it seems to have paid off.

The three of them are very complementary and we’re a more dynamic and competitive team with Morgan pushing on.

It frees other up to contribute and just look at the possession improvement stats.

So all the new signings aren’t rubbish then?

I personally never said they were. Still holding judgement on Madsen. Think he will play better in a team full of confidence and playing well. The only player I wouldn't have near the first team at the moment is Ashby. I know he has been playing out of position but just really unsure about him.

I didn’t think we were going to do it but this is a huge win for us, huge, as the points were there for the taking.

We didn’t play that well but kept going, battling and got over the line. Great cross from Chair and finish from Jimmy who did so well to be up there in the first place after 90 minutes.

Just realised that's Kolli's 3rd Goal, scored again in the 49th minute. Spooky.

Morgan just getting better. Quite like him playing a bit more advanced. Maybe not as a 10 but being allowed to get about the pitch. His energy helps with our press when we do it and he doesn't mind getting stuck in. He has a footballing brain too.

How does this team manage to play so Jekyll and Hyde? Dominant second half performance, great to get minutes into Chair, Frey and JCS.

Morgan MotM for me. His work rate for an 18yo is pretty amazing, but he can also play a bit. His body shape when receiving the ball allows us to move forward.

I think the debate about whether we keep Cook for next season has been settled unfortunately.
Do we have a CB in the development squad that can step up?

Makes a huge difference to the result AND the entertainment/engagement of the fans, who have experienced some seriously challenging and ‘unentertaining’ (does that word exist ?) guff of late.

Well done to all involved today and good luck with the recovery, Cookie. We’ll miss those last gasp blocks, the leadership and the banning orders for misbehaving strikers that mistakenly stray into his battle cruiser.

I've been eating a few slices of humble pie on and off for a while now (though certainly not post-Brizzle), but after that 2nd half, it'll be interesting to hear from those who've insisted the entire recruitment was in the sea and Nourry an existential danger to our club. Talk about false prophets!

Poll: What should the club do now (assuming no imminent change of owners)?

Unfortunately not. We'll need a new player to replace Cook.
