Released QPR manager wins European trophy as a first team coach year later !!! 22:55 - Jun 7 with 3634 views | numptydumpty | Great decision by the board and the DoF !!! 🤣 Wonder if Monsieur Warburton still has any ambitions to be number one again. Obviously not a hope in whatever him coming here again, but am actually genuinely pleased for the man. Was a man who did pretty well here and enjoyed the style of play he brought in. Be interesting if he does get any clubs come calling and whether he would take the bait once more.

Released QPR manager wins European trophy as a first team coach year later !!! on 11:12 - Jun 9 by daveB | We'll never know how it would have gone.. There was a real risk of it continuing into the next season, a bit like Ainsworth at the moment he looked an obvious sacked by christmas candidate at the time There was obviously more to it than just results, he'd fallen out with the DOF and the owners so was never likely to survive a collapse like we had. I think they did try and continue with the same plan rather than tear it up all just used a different voice as manager but Beale going set the place on the fire. I do wonder if thats part of why les and also Ainsworth are staying in that the owners saw what happened when they pulled the trigger last year and now want to stick and see if it gets better. Thats probably being a bit generous towards them though |
I agree that we will never know how it would have gone if he had stayed but, for a club that gets almost every decision wrong, I would have put money on them messing it up. The fact he pulled us out of slumps before, the fact he achieved more than any other manager they’ve appointed (not counting the ‘Arry promotion given the obscene amount of money spent), those two factors alone should have been enough for him to have been given another run at it. This club has specialised in failure ever since Tune bounced through the door. The last thing we need to do is go looking for trouble when trouble finds us easily enough. The Bealeshitter is clearly just that, but we can feel sorry for ourselves for being taken in, or we can ask why he was even here given we had a very decent manager already. It was a gamble that didn’t need to be taken imo, and a reckless one given our propensity to make a hash of things.
