Huddersfield Match Thread 16:16 - Mar 12 with 32813 views | PinnerPaul | Started the BC one, so here's hoping for a similar result. We're quite strong favourites for this one - Even money with Paddy P. I'll go for 2-0 Johansson and Chair to score
Huddersfield Match Thread on 17:06 - Mar 13 with 1626 views | kensalriser | Only saw the second half but that was tedious. Huddersfield contained us easily and there was no one in a hooped shirt with any kind of inspiration. Not impressed with Kakay's performance there, lots of backwards and sideways passing, can't get past anyone and the less said about the crossing the better. Not that anyone else looked a whole lot better.

Huddersfield Match Thread on 17:07 - Mar 13 with 1610 views | SteveB | Fair play HF, done an absolute number on us today, reduced us to a shambolic mess. No positives from that display. A very frustrating performance from us that would have resulted in loud boos from 3 sides of the stadium, if we were allowed in. Our own worst enemy at times today, no energy, too slow, far too deep, repeatedly losing possession and dragged into letting them time waste with petty fouling. We all know that no-one in a QPR shirt played well, so I'll certainly not dig-out individuals. Onwards... Don't let it spoil your evening....

Huddersfield Match Thread on 17:05 - Mar 13 by Hunterhoop | That was dreadful. It's not the end of the world, obviously. But the season is now pretty much dead and we have our customary two months of "meh" left. Frustratingly today, and to try to be balanced, the worst two players on the pitch today were Austin and Johansen. Huge fan of both , but their touch and passing were just awful. Tired legs? No idea. Miles off their own standard. But Johansen was giving it away for fun, dropping way too deep to get it, taking 2-3 too many touches, whilst almost every time the ball went near Austin he miscontrolled or mispassed it. The worrying thing were that, with the two most experienced and high quality players having really poor games, no one else stood up and wanted to take responsibility. No one else was vocal. The same flaws are still there, hiding under the surface. Take Austin and Johansen out of the side (which they did themselves today; they were both hindrances more than helpers) and the side still lacks character, steel and will to win. Adomah needs to play more because he's the best crossed of the ball in the club. That is also annoying. |
Agree with everything you say apart from the last paragraph, Adomah looks shot to me, has done all season.

Huddersfield Match Thread on 16:59 - Mar 13 by Spaghetti_Hoops | Their 8 days without a match is more than enough reason. |
Yeah, this season is an absolute write off. Can only think how hard it is going to be for Rotherham who had another game cancelled today.
Huddersfield Match Thread on 17:09 - Mar 13 with 1574 views | THEBUSH | When I saw the teamsheet, I thought playing two right backs, didn't look right. Since we've started playing three big fellas at the back, we look a more solid team. As I said, that team didn't look right to me.
Huddersfield Match Thread on 17:10 - Mar 13 with 1568 views | BostonR | Cannot wait to hear MW explain that dire performance. I get we have let a lot of good players go and probably punched above our weight this season, but that performance coupled with Barnsley and Birmingham recently should have the alarm bells going off! Same old problem with MW in that no plan B is available. It was fecking Huddersfield we played. Speechless.
Huddersfield Match Thread on 17:10 - Mar 13 with 1561 views | rsonist | Have sometimes thought people were too quick to play the too slow to substitute card this season, but that was pretty inexplicable from Warbs today. May as well not have bothered at all by the time he did. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Huddersfield Match Thread on 17:11 - Mar 13 with 1538 views | actonman | Throwback to earlier in season , finish first half looking good and playing good football , opposition under the cosh then expect to come out 2nd half and expect the opposition manager to just stay the same. Tbf it worked last week against Bristol but not many teams don’t do in game management Barr us
Huddersfield Match Thread on 17:12 - Mar 13 with 1525 views | joolsyp | I think the state of our pitch isn't helping us at the moment - why is it so bloody bouncy? Makes it hard for some of our players to get the ball under control quickly - and I thought technically Huddersfield were excellent today. They also adapted better to the wind and bounce.
Huddersfield Match Thread on 17:14 - Mar 13 with 1491 views | ted_hendrix | Is tiredness an excuse? too many games in quick succession? I don't think so-these are professional footballers and should be able to cope with it, it's what they do for a living.

Huddersfield Match Thread on 17:19 - Mar 13 with 1423 views | ManinBlack | I don't know why but whenever I watch us play Huddersfield we never seem to turn up. No wins against them since they dropped from the Premier league, two abysmal away 2-0 defeats at their place when we just went through the motions, 7 games without a win against them now, handing them their first away win in many months so we naturally had to help out. Then further back in time freezing my nuts off as lower league Town knocked us out of the FA Cup at Leeds Road and the day they sent us down to league 1. We seem to be terrified of the Terriers.
Huddersfield Match Thread on 17:20 - Mar 13 with 1410 views | karl | Willock off the pace today as well, quite probably because the team was flat but he has to keep putting in more consistency to be the regular we all want him to be. He shouldn't have natch tiredness as an excuse. It wasn't a lack of effort by the look of it but drifted along a little too much
Huddersfield Match Thread on 17:20 - Mar 13 with 1410 views | joe90 | We should be use to games/results like this. Look at the scores today, Barnsley probably the only team actually in consistent winning form. My main thought from today, is playing Austin so deep a good idea? Onto the next match we go.
Huddersfield Match Thread on 17:23 - Mar 13 with 1390 views | W12Mikey | Given that he knew Huddersfield had had more recovery time than Rangers, and given that they were playing a pressing game, why on earth did Warbs not make a couple of subs at or just after half time to give some fresh energy? Instead Corberan took the initiative, made changes at 52 mins and was rewarded with a goal on 55 mins, and we were never in it after that. And Warbs didn't react at all for another 20 mins. I would have liked to see Ball brought on - not the most technical of players but his hustle and bustle might have helped us get further up the field

Austin has been dropping deep to try to get the ball, very little service from Chair, Willock or wing backs today. Has to be played with Dykes or Bonne to get the best from him: hopefully that will happen against the ‘Wall in midweek.

I’ve been saying for ages we need to do something with our pitch, this time of year it’s plays like concrete. Even dickie mentioned it after the Barnsley game which was basically a game of ‘headers and volleys’ for 90 minutes.

So you focus on Birmingham and Barnsley game yet ignore the wins against Bristol and Wycombe Warburton has shown many times we have a plan b. Overall we were poor today and lost to a better side

Not at all. Actually watched the match with my lads and it was woeful. I acknowledge the side is not as strong as last season, but the inconsistency says a lot about the manager and the team. We do not seem able to change it during games against sides we should beat.

At this point the side is probably stronger overall than last season, excluding Eze of course. Huddersfield played well, we didn't. They capitalised to good effect on the unusual amount of rest they had - we were doing the same thing to teams, from the same position, only a few games ago. I just don't think it's any kind of 'Warburton Out' moment which is how your post reads to me at least.
Huddersfield Match Thread on 17:54 - Mar 13 with 1151 views | Spaghetti_Hoops | Fair play to Huddersfield we clearly suit them down to the ground. Kept us to one good chance in two matches. Completely wrong to look at a team below us in the table and expect to beat them. In the Championship it's all about match ups and the random nature of football. Plus they had the massive advantage of eight days rest.
