Bees match thread on 22:24 - Oct 28 with 2568 views | WestbourneR | Some crazy opinions on here. Incredibly harsh on BOS. Chair looked SO much better when he moved deeper into centre mid. For me he lacks the skill set for a 10 or winger. He cuts back and passes backwards far too much. At the end of the day - BOS and Kelly were the only two players on the pitch who cost a fee. We’ve put the rest of the team together for free plus some loans. It’s remarkable we’re as competitive as we are. People have very memories and totally unrealistic ambitions to be pi**ing and moaning when we’re doing so well overall with very limited resources and a young team. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Bees match thread on 22:07 - Oct 28 by ed_83 | Really disappointing. Unsteady at the back, porous in midfield, and toothless in attack. Thought Cameron and Scowen were particularly poor. Eze, Chair and Wells were below the high standards we've come to expect. Incredibly frustrating to see us concede yet another idiotically soft goal, and it felt like we went long from the back way, way too often given Hugill's absence. Just a frustrating, depressing night all round really... what is it with us and televised matches? Looking for positives, I thought Kelly had a good game - nothing he could have done about any of the goals, and some great saves to keep us in with a shout. BOS showed a few decent flashes, Chair improved in the second half, and Eze showed he can at least still make things happen even when he's below par. Scrub off the ludicrous dive for their penalty, or add on the penalty we could have had for their handball, and we might have sneaked a point we didn't really deserve. Hopefully the team and supporters take the defeat and move on - we always knew this year's constraints meant we'd have nights like this, and we'll probably have a few more in the near future. But we're still doing miles better than anyone expected, and have plenty of reason to believe that things can & will improve. [Post edited 28 Oct 2019 22:10]

missed the game this evening (many thanks again Sky you stinking bunch of p*ss flaps)... anyway just seen the score... incredible isn't it. I'm only ever going to bet on QPR Sky games and FA Cup 3rd round matches from now on... Easy money. [Post edited 29 Oct 2019 0:33]

Yes agreed. As soon as their number 3 got booked we should have been getting the ball to BOS as much as possible to run at him, but more often that not we were too slow, and by the time he got the ball he was boxed in.

Bees match thread on 09:44 - Oct 29 with 1615 views | derbyhoop | We were second best for most of the game. Some players played well, but only in parts. BOS had a 15 minute spell where he had Henry on toast, but then faded. Neither Eze nor Chair got going until second half. Consequently Wells was starved of any decent service. The 2 central defenders were both culpable for the first goal. I though Scowen was grossly unlucky for the penalty and he spent the last 5 minutes as a central defender. Overall he didn't offer much going forward. People have been crying out for manning to get picked for his country. He looks great going forward and whipping in crosses with his left foot. But, honestly, his defending is not up to this level. Both in positioning and stature. The only Ranges player to come out of it with enhanced reputation was Liam Kelly. He kept us in it. Otherwise Brentford would have been out of sight.

Bees match thread on 09:50 - Oct 29 with 1602 views | themodfather | after the storm and a calm down, qpr have played decent, passed well but been caught out again just like Swansea and reading to name 2, football is still a contact sport and you can tackle, we wasted set pieces which their goalie lapped up. many teams are playing the same and many will be caught out too, we are still well placed and have to keep faith.i'd rather be near the play off spots than the bottom 5 or 6!
Bees match thread on 09:51 - Oct 29 with 1602 views | THEBUSH | Didn't enjoy any of last nights game, it was horrible to watch Brentford take us apart. Still I'm not complaining, as we have done so well considering our feeble efforts of last season. I trust Warbuton to get it right again.

Bees match thread on 16:59 - Oct 28 by PinnerPaul | TBF it was an offer - their 'normal' price was 7/2 I'll be at the game so will miss your on line 'commentary' - enjoy the match! All - its meant to be sunny tomorrow, if it is I'll be out in the garden doing lots of autumn jobs, so you'll just have to wait for my comments on the referee's performance - hopefully he'll be magnificent and I'll be redundant! |
Sadly he wasn't or at least had a big decision to make. Now clearly MW, the BBC and Sky all thought it soft - at the time I thought it was a pen (From T block though) and even on replay can see why it was given. However there IS one angle on offy highlights where it looks VERY soft. Think we would have been shouting for it our end though. The 'handball' though call WAS correct - that's never deliberate - hand/arm not making the body bigger nor in an unnatural position. MW also mumbled something about 'offside' - can't remember any calls that looked wrong to me on offsides. One big no no live for me was the Scowen challenge in front of ER - just seemed to slam the ball in the blokes chest - never a foul for me. 3 yellows for them all correct I thought.

Incredible prediction bet you wish you put money on it to reduce the pain of defeat. As Sky are based in Isleworth that is probably Brentford territory so they will probably keep showing this fixture especially if we keep losing to them. Probably a few Bees fans work behind the scenes for Sky. It seems Sky are only interested in showing us against Fulham, Reading and Brentford. They never show us at home to Barnsley because we might actually win. They probably thought last season that they would televise us against Villa and Leeds because we would lose and it backfired on them. Am I right in thinking Fulham and Forest are both live coming up? If so another one point haul might be all we get if we continue being camera shy.

BOS picked up a knock from the tackle that got the left back booked, and completely faded out of the game afterwards. He clearly didn't want to be on the pitch and should've been substituted.

Bees match thread on 10:49 - Oct 30 with 1016 views | Mick_S | I may have missed something here, but I read elsewhere that Watkins was booked the other night - was he? The reason I ask is that he took his shirt off after scoring the third and therefore it's giving me more ammo against that useless aunt of a ref because he should have been sent off if that's the case. Not bitter or anything.

He was booked after he scored the 3 rd goal don’t think he was booked earlier so think you may be wrong.

I'm fairly sure he should have been booked in the first half for blatantly kicking the ball away clearly after the whistle had gone. Perhaps someone who's a sucker for punishment and watches the full 90 on the offy will confirm this so I think Mick maybe right in that that yellow for taking his shirt off should have been followed by a red.

I've watched the highlights since the first goal as I remembered it being not long after they scored the first and I was right. On 30 minutes (30.32 to be exact), Watkins fouls Manning just outside the box near the touchline and you can clearly hear the whistle blow for the foul yet Watkins boots the ball away which goes behind Kelly's goal.
