Bees match thread on 21:43 - Oct 28 with 2053 views | Jigsore | sh*t refereeing two games in a row completely halting our momentum just in time for Leeds away... how can a competition with so much money in it have such poor poor refs? as for Brentford they can f*ck off, collapsing to the floor everywhere whereas Henry fouls BOS 4 times before he even gets a yellow on we go with no confidence to Saturday where i'm sure we'll get pumped. no big deal the tickets were only £40. bargain.

I thought they were two of our better players. Not great overall tonight, disappointing for sure, but we were robbed with the dive for a penalty

Eze was good again tonight once we put him central, even before that i thought he worked hard off the ball and used the ball well when we could get it to him. I thought BOS had some good moments on the first half and then got Henry on a yellow but seemed to lack the confidence to take him on with his first touch. If he could only knock it past with the first or second touch like Impey used to then I think a lot more would happen for him. By the end, i think he will end up disappointed with his night when it could have ended up a big night for him.

Bees match thread on 21:48 - Oct 28 with 1877 views | stevec | Second best all night long. Poor performances all over but can’t rely on Eze pulling the strings every game from midfield. Chair at least showed for the ball, WTF Samuel brings to the party is totally lost on me. Henry was there for the taking yet Samuel didn’t get a single cross in. He just looks lost.

Agree about the penalty changing the flow of the game. We had started the second half in the ascendency. That penalty decision seemed to knock us out of our stride which we never recovered from. I was hoping we would take a dive in their box to even it up but we are just too nice.
Bees match thread on 21:54 - Oct 28 with 1734 views | Faurlinho | Brian - we were sitting just by Bright. I think he took a knock second half and seemed to be limping. He seemed to signal to get subbed but they either did not clock it or ignored him.
Bees match thread on 21:55 - Oct 28 with 1716 views | qprd | warburton appeared to address the midfield issue in the beginning of the second half. we were much less wide open. but very disappointing game management for him to not use two substitutions. thought he shouldve asked questions down the right flank, particularly when henry was on a yellow. why wasnt kane introduced to give BOS an overlapping option and ask henry questions? and surely pugh couldve had an impact on this match scowen and cameron were really terrible in the first half. cameron was invisible and scowen seemed to lose every 50/50, charging into challenges higher up the pitch, losing them and letting the brentford player run past him and onto an exposed back 4. its ok to play that way, but you need to win the odd challenge to justify it. scowen improved in the second half, but went in way too aggressively into the penalty challenge. perhaps the brentford player was looking for the pen, but scowen may have still taken him out if he was on the ground. eze had flashes of genius, but at the end of the day, he did not take the game by the scruff of the neck. eze should spend the next few days watching tape of ilias' chairs performance and pay attn to how he stamped his mark on the game bright really was doing well in the beginning of the second half but then disappeared. his hold up game at the half way line is impressive, particularly when he is able to flick it past the defender and start running. but brights primary asset is his pace, and we need to figure out how to get him the ball whilst he is running. he should not be collecting the ball in stationary positions as he is currently doing credit to the two standout performers today- ilias chair. he played second striker at the beginning of the second half, shifted to a 10/left winger and then became a playmaking cdm once cameron went off. his linkup game was brilliant. im really disappointed he did not score today. the boy did everything he could to help us win, and was getting on the ball all over the pitch. whereas eze let the game come to him, chair was far more proactive well done to kelly. i have not been a fan of his and have been skeptical of his distribution. thought he made some incredible saves, and did well with ball at his feet its a shame dom ball is so limited with ball at feet/amos seems more suited to u23, b/c cameron's lack of mobility really left us vulnerable tonight. we're asking a lot of a bloke in his mid30s
Bees match thread on 21:59 - Oct 28 with 1654 views | YorkRanger | Reality check time. All the talk of going second worried me, Brentford are a decent side who always raise their game against us. We were second best from the first whistle and although the pen was a poor decision, no complaints overall. We are still punching above our weight and should be pleased with the progress to date....

This absolutely. First goal we yet again let a striker get between two defenders and neither took charge.

Bees match thread on 22:07 - Oct 28 with 1543 views | ed_83 | Really disappointing. Unsteady at the back, porous in midfield, and toothless in attack. Thought Cameron and Scowen were particularly poor. Eze, Chair and Wells were below the high standards we've come to expect. Incredibly frustrating to see us concede yet another idiotically soft goal, and it felt like we went long from the back way, way too often given Hugill's absence. Just a frustrating, depressing night all round really... what is it with us and televised matches? Looking for positives, I thought Kelly had a good game - nothing he could have done about any of the goals, and some great saves to keep us in with a shout. BOS showed a few decent flashes, Chair improved in the second half, and Eze showed he can at least still make things happen even when he's below par. Scrub off the ludicrous dive for their penalty, or add on the penalty we could have had for their handball, and we might have sneaked a point we didn't really deserve. Hopefully the team and supporters take the defeat and move on - we always knew this year's constraints meant we'd have nights like this, and we'll probably have a few more in the near future. But we're still doing miles better than anyone expected, and have plenty of reason to believe that things can & will improve. [Post edited 28 Oct 2019 22:10]
