So..Nothing happened. No CCV, or any other player.

Which means Alan Nixon is a complete fool. Or..something bad happened which prevented the deal to be completed today. We'll see.

Looks like the Cameron Carter Vickers deal is close.

Couple of links on twitter with Daniel Amartey and still getting mentions with Ghoddos.

Read a link that was also linking us along with a few other clubs as being interested in free agent Achraf Benchkarfi.

Saman Ghoddos is on his way to Amiens, but the price is different from the papers. Expressen said €4 million while Sportbladet said €6 million.

If Sportbladet is right he will be the third most expensive player from Allsvenskan!

Amiens president confirms S Ghoddos is only a medical away from officially being a Ligue 1 player!

seems like most of the media are now reporting today that this deal looks to happen for CCV.

Interesting loan.. To be honest the way our defence is like now.. I am ok with another young player to be brought in.

Yes.

But also the one who shipped the ball over Neuer in the world cup, opening the score for Sweden.

He's mostly a terrible player though, and 32 years old. I hope we turn our sight for a much better player.

Let’s not forget the system we play and the fact we’ve got mcburnie and potentially bony in that position. An old head to bring on up top when mcburnie tires might be just what potter is after.

Most important point is that any loanee doesn’t cost much in wages.

better costs money!
It's obvious that we'll be looking for cheap options.

According to official figures (2 seasons ago), Ola Toivonen is being paid 95.000k euros/month, which means somewhere around 21.500k/wk in pounds.

I'm not a scout but I think there must be better options out there who'd cost us the same.

I think we need to be realistic.
We are in the Championship now, not the Premier League.
An international player, who can play in two or three positions (CF & CM / ACM) thus meeting the need to only sign one player rather than two.
He would do a good job in the Championship.
If we bring in Toivonen, CCV & a DM, I would be happy given the transfer dealings that we have previously seen.

QPR, who are in utter shambles, just got themselves 2 proven championship strikers (Hemed & Wells). Not a fan of neither. But probably better options that Toivonen. Either ways, the rumour is baseless. We're not looking into any strikers. (although, I believe this will backfire and we're probably getting one in January)

Signing a DMF now is the main priority. He could be the difference between a 12th place and a 6th place finish imo. Someone like Fer, Strong and can scare off midfielders. With CCV coming of course, and I think we can make the play offs. maybe.

Bristol City signed Kalas at CB. Decent player hope too late for tomorrow. Let’s get the CCV deal done now.

Woods will be joining Stoke today. Another failure by the club. He'd be better off staying at Brentford.

I can't see how signing Woods was ever an option if I'm being honest.

As soon as the Ayew brothers didn't warrant a fee, and Clucas went for cheaper than expected, he would have been miles out of price range.

We sold Clucas to Stoke (and a few others) to decrease the wage bill and help fund Woods, reportedly the manager's number 1 target throughout the summer. Now Stoke end up with both Clucas and Woods. If we couldn't even afford to loan him, then there's something seriously wrong at the club. As I said before, there needs to be a Panorama style investigation into how this club is run.

As soon as the deadline day passed, loan was also out of the question. They’d have demanded the same fee, it’s basically a permanent transfer in all but paper anyway.

I’m convinced that as soon as Jordan didn’t warrant a fee, that was it.

We're getting our house in order asap. Stoke are doing a Newcastle and running up a horrendous loss trying to go back up first time.

"Couldn't even afford to loan him" is misleading as this is a mandatory purchase loan so no cheaper than it would have been to buy before the first window closed.

If "getting our house in order" means leaving us with a depleted squad with one fit striker and a weak midfield then they've done a bang up job of it.

The owners have shown they're not willing to back the manager on his number 1 transfer target. Our financial situation is disgusting and a result of incredible ineptitude at boardroom level. Why would anyone trust the people who made those mistakes to put them right?

Well done Huw , well done sellouts and of course our wonderful owners for screwing up our club big time. Potter was lied to, he was promised full support and given crumbs, the players he brought in have done wonders. We should have demanded fees for Baston and the Ayew brothers , but apart from the loan fees we get sweet feck all. Woods would have been fantastic for us, but after the way he was treated on deadline day, the last place he would have wanted to come to was our farce of a club. On the field and coaching wise everything is hunky dory, but we still have hopeless Huwbert and the Americans to fudge everything up! Who in their right mind would want to come here after that fiasco, as for this Spurs bod , don't hold your breathing that one , if Statler and Waldorf weren't going to sanction the Woods transfer then there is no-way in hell are they going to give the ok for a loan fee going to Tottenham especially as Levy is the biggest shysters when is comes to dealing with Huw and co.
