The Realistic 2018/2019 Championship transfer thread. on 10:37 - Aug 11 by Swansea93 | Tammy Abraham probably going to Villa on loan then, Solanke available for loan but linked with Rangers, Patrick Roberts also available. There are alot of players we could potentially get on loan from the big clubs, but we probably wont make a loan signing. |
It's too bad Tammy couldn't come here for 1 more season.... I think if he was loaned to us and played under GP he would do well. We are not really using our striker as the lone hold up ball striker... we are using him as a faster poacher type with our wingers actually providing many balls to them. Tall and fast and has goals in the championship... and young... I wouldn't mind taking him on loan again.

Where are these reports ? Keen to see these. We need to be far more pro-active in this loan market, we have two major games in the next 7 days, although i have a fear/belief that Leeds will dismantle us already ... But hey, i’ve literally got no expectations for us this season and i’m thoroughly enjoying the experience so far.

Just Nixon again. Looking back on later replies from the tweets though it looks as if he meant Dyer needs financials sorted before the deal happens.

To be fair very little happening in the loan market yet, suspect the Premiership clubs are all taking their time to see who will pay what in terms of fees/wages plus every week we wait that's another week with no extra wages!
The Realistic 2018/2019 Championship transfer thread. on 13:04 - Aug 19 with 2915 views | Kerouac | ...tick-tock, tick-tock (we are now sweating on the Loan window closing!) The story so far... Another summer. another manager of ours dicked. My verdict? We are up shiit creek and need Potter to perform miracles with the youngsters he has at his disposal. Hope we can land some loanees worth having. New Manager Graham Potter (I reckon he's perfect...needs time, 2/3 seasons, and backing - doesn't appear to have been backed so far. The Realistic 2018/2019 Championship transfer thread. on 23:09 - Aug 20 with 2797 views | omarjack | Let's take a look at our defence here..assuming Carter-Vickers signs.. Olsson/John-----Van der Hoorn/???---------Rodon/Carter-Vickers---------Roberts/??? ---------------------------------Mulder/Nordfeldt--------------------------------------- I also considered that Naughton is leaving as well. No clue who'd take him, but if we could possibly find suitors for Dyer and Routledge, then it's a possibility. It's very clear that we'll be needing another CB...and I'm worried that we won't. Leaving us really exposed if VDH becomes unavailable. And how about the DMF position? Only 9 days left to address this issue. No need to panic and throw a tantrum like what happened on the initial deadline day. Let's keep calm for now. But we've missed on our main midfield targets (Woods,Besic), Which means we'll have to settle with lesser quality now, if we bring any at all, Which is a fearful possibility. After all, we have a good amount of central and defensive midfielders on paper, Carroll, Fer, Fulton, Grimes, Maric.. Another problem is the CF position, it doesn't look like we're even considering bringing enforcements at all, We've missed out on Nmecha and that was it. Imo, McBurnie being our only striker is catastrophic. As for Bony, he won't be fit enough to fill in when needed, and if he is really fit, he'll be off somewhere else anyway. 9 days..tik tok..

Different times with comparison with other championship clubs now / then wouldn’t be as flattering! Trying not to be too rose tinted.. Defence. 2011 edge it. Ash, Rangel and Monk were key and Taylor much better then. Midfield. 2011 way ahead. Oh for a Bodde / Allen /Leon now. Attack. 2018 edge with a fit Bony and Montero. Sinclair / Dyer were both cut above Championship then.
The Realistic 2018/2019 Championship transfer thread. on 13:13 - Aug 21 with 2549 views | AnotherJohn | Ethan Ampadu is an interesting one. I was looking for something else and found this post of mine from 2016. One for the future? at 07:59 10 Aug 2016 Kwame Ampadu's lad Ethan became Exeter City's youngest ever player - at 15 years, 10 months and 26 days - when he starred in defense in the 1-0 victory over Brentford last night. He beat the record of Cliff Bastin, who as most will know was an Arsenal legend in the inter-war years. Apparently a lot of clubs are interested. One wonders if Kwame's links with the Swans might give us an advantage if Ethan catches our scouts' eyes. I bet some PS regulars will say don't go back after Grimes! --- Missed opportunity?

From what I can gather, he's very strong, good in the air, but prone to horrendous mistakes at times due to his inexperience. I'd have liked us to go for a bit of experience instead. If we play with 2 CBs formations, I don't think he'll be able to cement a starting place instead of Rodon. He might be "more of the same", only an addition in case an injury or suspension occurs to one of our CBs, rather than an improvement. No news on central midfielders and strikers.

"It's two clubs from France, two clubs in the Championship and one club in Germany." 2 Championship clubs are in talks for him, it's reasonable to assume we're one of them. Still, Ostersunds would want somewhere around 5-6 m for him (we'll sign him permanently in January if it happens)..might be a bit too much for us. We'll see.
