'Technical Ability'

Is it a poncy way of saying a player looks hilarious when they try to do something with a football? Seems to have little relevance if the player is banging in goals or keeping them out.

'Ball to Hand / Hand to Ball'

Basically, on purpose or not on purpose right?

'Last Man'

Seems to guarantee a red if this player commits a foul. Is it mentioned in any rule books because it seems very vague to me. If the last man is by the corner flag and the player he fouls has the mobility of an oil tanker should it be a red?

Help needed please.

" he struck the ball too well" When a player shoots but misses, hits the post or keeper saves it.
I think you'll find he didn't hit it well enough, unless you mean he should have scuffed the shot, completely miss kicking it and flukes a goal.

Professional foul. You don't say "well that was a professional pass." Or " that was a professional goal". They're supposed to be professional.

And thy also us the full noun 'football'. At every, single, miserable opportunity.

Because if they shortened it and said "we need get hold of the ball" the pre-match TV crowd in the pub would all say "well hang on there now, which ball does he actually mean? Maybe he means a fireball that is hurtling towards the earth as we speak..."

David v Goliath tie. Since when did football take on a biblical stance?

Meat and veg. That's got to be the crappiest football term going. Then coming from the likes of Mr Lawrenson, what does one expect.

Sleeping giant: any big city club on their uppers in a lower league. Sheffield United, Leeds United, Nottingham Forest for instance. We on the other hand are a comatose dwarf.

LOL well done you are this week's star baker, I am cracking up over that quip!

Here's another: "He runs the channels". What? I have heard of people swimming The Channel but running them? Come to think of it, I can't even see any channels on the pitch, it looks pretty to flat to me...

Too right! Some pundits seem to be getting their sports mixed up. The one they are thinking of is called "netball".
