Footballing Terms I Don't Understand 14:30 - Feb 15 with 7821 views | BazzaInTheLoft | 'Technical Ability' Is it a poncy way of saying a player looks hilarious when they try to do something with a football? Seems to have little relevance if the player is banging in goals or keeping them out. 'Ball to Hand / Hand to Ball' Basically, on purpose or not on purpose right? 'Last Man' Seems to guarantee a red if this player commits a foul. Is it mentioned in any rule books because it seems very vague to me. If the last man is by the corner flag and the player he fouls has the mobility of an oil tanker should it be a red? Help needed please.

Footballing Terms I Don't Understand on 15:04 - Feb 15 with 3821 views | hopphoops | As discussed before, having "genuine pace" means you're quick but otherwise shît at football. If you ever learn to play it's relegated to just "pace". See also: Barn door; Theo Walcott; Jamie Vardy.

Footballing Terms I Don't Understand on 15:27 - Feb 15 with 3768 views | Copenranger | I would say "technical ability" is one of 3 key areas and covers everything a player does while in contact with the ball, passing, dribbles, shooting, heading etc. Physical and tactical abilities being the other key areas. But you´re right of course, who cares if he keeps banging in goals :)

Actually, the last man would be Omega Roberts, a Liberian currently playing in the Serbian league. For the record, he has no technical ability, little pace and handballs frequently.

There are 3 types of ability: Technical ability - can he play football? Psycho-socio-sexual ability - can he avoid being a git, stay out of chokey? Brand ability - does he have the right tats, car, hairdo, is he mates with the right agents, managers? About one player every 40 years has all three; with two a player should have a long career; with one or less he'll follow a time-honoured trajectory from QPR to Gaziantepspor, Farnborough Town and the Scrubs

He had no right to...usually followed by score from there, make that pass, make that tackle. If I'd run on the pitch and done it then it'd be a fair call but he's a player, that's his job.
