As many suspected, Saints look as if they'll privileged enough to keep the tactical genius that is Russell Martin for the next three years. I'll be a long, painful, haul boys and girls and SR seem intent on continuing the torture of the fan base. I'll get my coat.
The players are the players: professionals and good players at a certain level - unfortunately not consistently at Prem level. When they're on the pitch they, 99.99% of the time, give their all. However, Saints decline must be laid at the hands of SR who saw SFC as a business opportunity without a 100% commitment to the footballing side of things. They shouldn't have appointed Martin, he didn't have the experience or credentials and they were less than competent in purchasing competent players.
Defence looks well dodgy. Far too much space for Brighton. Ridiculous that it hasn't been sorted out after so much time. Looks to me as if the players are confused about their roles in central defence. Pathetic.
After the way he was treated at Chelsea, I'm hoping he'll have the sense to do a Le Tiss. Ward-Prowse hasn't exactly flourished. Hopefully , we'll get a sensible manager who can build a decent team around him capable of playing at Premier League levels. I can but dream.
