It’s got to be better than this season but in time if we were like Stoke, Swansea, etc. then I wouldn’t be looking forward to that. Ultimately, I want to see us competing at the top level.

Very happy to return. Better atmospheres, no VAR (yet), new grounds to visit, meeting proper loyal fans, no tourists, more honest players. The PL is just a corporate machine for a load of armchair fans and paying players 200 grand a week. But, I would rather return tomorrow, than go through another PL games of misery. The wait before we can regroup and go again next year, could be damaging.

It really doesn't worry me anymore, the Premier League is finished for the match going supporters unless we get rid of 6-7 teams to a European super league

Ask me again after six or seven years when we continue to get spanked albeit in a lower league or leagues. The excitement of seeing some proper grounds again will soon wear off as Rasmus and Co. continue to make a Horlicks of things…..

Ready and waiting to mop up those European places......

Totally agree. Although, Forest, Bournemouth, Fulham have shown that the PL can be enjoyable for lesser clubs. PL certainly seems like a bad idea for Saints. We can't seem to get anywhere.

I’d attribute that mainly to the gibbons currently in charge.

They are all having their moment in the sun just a we did, but ultimately that won't last forever, but let's be honest, they will all be where we are within a few years I'd guess?

Anything has to be better than seeing us lose every week.

I look forward to seeing us back on the EFL highlights programme on a Saturday night, which is a vastly superior offering to the abysmal Match of the Day.

I really enjoyed travelling away and seeing saints win a lot in the championship . You can’t beat that winning feeling it picks you up and makes you feel good. This season has been a disaster and I won’t miss getting dicked every week.

It’s like the Premier league has become too big for us but this is all down to the owners we’ve had over the years, none of them appear to want to take the club anywhere, we just seem to exist . In the premier league there are Smaller clubs than us showing us how it should be done with good ambitious owners .

Likewise, loved going to the games, especially the away games in the championship. Knowing that we could win the game, away from home with 3000 plus Saints fans celebrating in the away end was great fun. Being at the top of the league and in most games being the bigger club is much more enjoyable than getting thrashed every week ofcourse.

But next season will be a bit of a strange feeling. The joy of getting promoted at Wembley, then the misery of this season brings an interesting feeling. So if we end coming back up next year, is it that exciting knowing the misery that promotion brings? It's like we have been there, done that. Another promotion to a league we don't want to be in? An inevitable relegation battle. It's almost like I won't be too bothered if we don't get back up next season.

I'm sure those clubs will be suitably punished by the end of this season, they will find some way to ensure those upstarts don't do that again ...
