I do hope we're not going to wait until the last game of the season to ensure safety?

Based on last two games, against bottom 5 teams....I am a little concerned. Pretty unlikely we'll go down but I can see us in the bottom 6....

Play off talk was nonsense we can’t beat charlton , Hull , Boro , Barnsley at home
Yet again our mentality is to give up when we get to 45/50 points , we have no ambition

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

The mentality, attitude and body language in the two games so far this summer has been alarming.

I know its probably not workable, but i have always thought that a low basic wage of say £1000 or £1500 per week with a goal , assist, clean sheet, win and to a lesser degree, draw bonus would be the way forward for football.

Getting paid more for results and work rate etc might not be a bad idea.

How nice to be encountering this conversation again this season. It's not so much the world going back to normal as the Cosmos stamping on any notion of change or progress. It's as if Aunt Winn has risen from the dead, caught the train up from Balham and has settled in front of the telly for a week to make us all watch the snooker for a week.

Ha ha.

Two weeks ago I laughed at the thread saying we might get in the play-offs and predicted this would happen.

Most fans can't look past the last two or three games. Some can't even look past the last result. I remember someone on here saying in January they didn't think we'd score again *for the rest of the season* - we promptly went out and put four past Stoke I think it was.

Maybe he peaked too early with that statement.Maybe he should’ve said we won’t score again after March 7th?

50 points will be enough to stay up this year. Our performances have been worryingly bad since we came back but there are some dire teams in the division this year and we have enough in the bag already.

Said this Saturday
We have a losers mentality at this club , come here for an easy life that’s what should be on the club badge
Warnock is going to have fun with us on Saturday especially on set pieces

Those dire teams by and large giving it a go

Always thought there’d be a team that spiralled into the shit post lockdown
Always feared it would be us

Wigan have gone nine games unbeaten and not conceded a goal in their last 7 matches. They are now level on points with us. Hopefully they will be as malaise as us by the time we visit as they too are safe.

Meanwhile I see Luton are now six games unbeaten so getting Nathan Jones back seems to be making a difference.

I may have a long wait to hear anyone at our club publicly state our results in derbies is unacceptable.

Take a look at Hull's remaining games. If you think they will find 3 wins out of 7 from them youre laughing.

We've played for that position in most seasons since we returned to the Championahip in 2004. Anything above 22nd was the most we could achieve in some of them!

We've f****** celebrated wildly when that was achieved quite a few times. Especially in 2007 when we beat promotion hopefuls Preston to stay up!

I've been watching us since 1967 & in that time I would imagine we finished in the bottom half of the table more than we did in the top half!

Totally agree. The idea of progress is to finish higher up the table each season but we remain static in 16th and people judge you where you finish after 46 games and not where we were after 37 fixtures.

I always think that when you hover over the relegation places season after season that eventually you drop into the relegation zone and go down. We look like we are waiting for it to happen like we are stagnating and downsizing to cut costs further.

It would be a real shame to let the season drift away again as it did last season, did think the side were very good tonight and fully deserved to at the very least draw the game but a win wouldn't have been unjust. That gives me hope for the next few games

Good to hear, Dave, as I missed the game.
