bbc salaries released on 21:12 - Dec 17 with 1985 views | JamesB1979 | For BBC, not sure having 2 of the top 6 earners to be presentor / pundit for a footballs show is really value for money. What percentage of the prime air time actually goes to these 2? Should just get in some cheaper, younger options. Make it all women just to piss of Barton. Salaries for the sports people can’t be justified for a channel like the BBC.
bbc salaries released on 21:37 - Dec 17 with 1928 views | StJude82 | The government should've scrapped the licence fee but they bottled it. The BBC has long since ceased to be an impartial news outlet if it ever was. Unlike the corporate media who will of course promote the given narrative of the day the BBC has the opportunity, responsibility and obligation to be objective. It is not. I used to love it but I now detest it.

Although this piece features people who go against your personal grain, it's worth noting there are few countries left with a decent spread of political / media opinion. It tends to be all one way or the other. I'd consider Britain, biased BBC or not, to be far more open to differing views than most.

bbc salaries released on 20:51 - Dec 17 by BazzaInTheLoft | I assume you are a similar age to me. I think if we were taught critical thinking at school instead of being expected to memorise Shakespeare or the accession dates of Kings and Queens then we’d be equipped to handle information better and separate bullshit from non bullshit. It’s impossible for anyone normal who has to work full time, have kids, or a life generally to get a fair view of the world I reckon. [Post edited 17 Dec 2023 21:09]

I grew up in a house with the Daily Mail and News at 10 with Trevor McDonald being the voice of current affairs. I dont watch the news or buy papers anymore but i know whats going on in the world through sites like this and other social media platforms. I think you have to be aware of peoples agenda when reading stuff online which is one of the reasons why you pissed me off so much on here , cos you were relentless in your crusade. (you've chilled out now tbf) I actually think learning basic ,accurate history gives you a good understanding on things happening now. Its nothing new. Look at the Palestine v Israel conflict. Btw.. I was taught critical thinking by my family, life and the school of hard knocks..lol [Post edited 17 Dec 2023 22:38]

bbc salaries released on 22:16 - Dec 17 with 1831 views | derbyhoop | Why has this re-emerged? The reports go back to 2019. When the BBC gets criticised from both the right and the left, it always strikes me that they get the balance about right. I'm not sure there will be a place for a national broadcaster in the future. Many of the young er generations get their news from social media. Far too much comment is designed to trigger Tweets or TikTok messages for a populace who can't/won't consider anything that requires detailed thoughts.

Correct. Lefties accuse them of being in the pockets of the Tories. Right wingers scream "defund the BBC" and whinge about everything being "woke". So they probably have it about right. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Wow, I’m fascinated by this bot stuff, how do you work it out, I wouldn’t have a clue. As much as anything, I didn’t know it was possible for a bot to get pissed off at us giving up a 1-0 lead with 5 minutes to go, do they have feelings? bloody scary. Do you mind if I test it out on here, live? Jim the hip, if you are real…what’s your favourite cheese? That should fck it right up.

bbc salaries released on 11:04 - Dec 18 with 1356 views | baz_qpr | I find this thread so depressing and the constant push from the right wing nuts that have bought in to the Murdoch and other press propaganda (no conflict of interest their gov.!) to strip the license fee and break up the institution. Yeah they get some things wrong, yes the news and politics has been stuffed with Tories for the last decade but seriously from local radio and news (which the "press" has now abandoned) to drama, comedy, kids tv, global news, sports coverage, music etc £150 a year against £516 for bare bones Sky (who are still charging £108 per year just for the privilege of HD in 2023! Really who gives a fluck what Lineker or Norton earn
bbc salaries released on 11:49 - Dec 18 with 1316 views | RangersDave | BBC Studios, Weren't the 'crown jewels' of British TV hived off to 'BBCStudios' ? Apparently this is the company that deals with the 'extra's' that Some of the 'big' stars get. I dont think that the BBC owns some of the great comedy shows anymore, but BBC Studios (not the BBC) own them. Please correct me if i'm wrong, i'm fascinated.

bbc salaries released on 12:51 - Dec 18 with 1262 views | ted_hendrix | I have a TV licence on SO £159.00 per Year. When we bought this new house we purchased a brand new TV that Is called a Samsung Frame. I have built it into the wall as It's meant to look like a picture frame. (It doesn't). My house and my Samsung bloody frame are now three years old and we've probably turned the stupid Samsung bloody frame thing on about Twenty times In total, the last time was a few weeks ago when Mrs Ted wanted to watch Strictly the results, I was In the other room and I could hear what my Samsung bloody frame was vomiting in the general direction of Wantage and Mrs Ted and that vomit was two Woman pretending to be excited about two blokes dancing with each other for some strange reason called a dance off?? It was at this point that I decided that for the sanity of Mrs Ted (and me) the Samsung bloody frame thing should be switched off for the rest of our lives. I'm soon gonna start reading ''Spare'' the book written by that Harry bloke (the one that used to be a Prince) not that I'm a Royalist or some such because I most certainly aint, I'm reading It because I hope he says something mildly interesting about his big brother Bill (the boring crawly bum lick bald one, you know the one, he's married to that boring bone Idle Woman Catherine of Aragon) What I find weird Is them there Royal people peeps all look the bloody same to me. Have you tried switching it off and on again?
