Our Obsession With Micky Adams... Sunday, 20th Feb 2011 11:54 by portvale4ever We just cannot leave it alone, can we. Every game, every result played out by Sheffield United is scrutinized and dissected, conclusions are made, fates are sealed. We're like the spurned lover spitefully picking over the subsequent failures of an Ex in order to grasp some hollow consolation. Adams did a fantastic job in the 18 months he spent at Vale Park. Took us from a team wandering aimlessly towards the indignation of Conference football and turned us into genuine promotion candidates. That was some feat. And obviously Micky should be thankful to Port Vale Football Club. He was decidedly 'yesterdays man' when we took him on, and it's no exaggeration to say that Port Vale saved his Managerial career. Who else was interested in Micky Adams during the summer of 2009? And, of course, he did make it abundantly clear from day one that he would always be interested in managing The Blades - the team he has supported since boyhood. Personally I couldn't give a toss about what happens to Sheffield United and Micky Adams. I'm not interested in gloating over the fact that they have failed to win a single game since Adams took charge, I don't care in the slightest if they survive in The Championship, or if they play their football in League 1 come August. Will he get sacked, walk, or go via the 'mutual consent' route? I really couldn't give a damn. And that's because I support Port Vale. I'm purely interested with the fortunes of our Club. Everything else is just totally inconsequential in my head.
