Those of you who have been around will remember my boy Jack who was born with downs syndrome. Now in our community we have a lady with a four year old boy with DS, and she is magnificent. No one jumps to the aid and assistance of our families in bucks before her. She has raised thousands of pounds for our charities and no matter how she is feeling she is a lioness when the rights of our community are being infringed. However she has just had a grant to have her garden made safe for her son turned down as she lives in a council house. It's in a bit of a state as gardening is a bit of a low priority as her boy has been in and out of hospital all his life. Does anyone know of any charities in Buckinghamshire or nationally that would pay for her garden to be landscaped, if it could be done to fit the special needs of her son that would be amazing. Any road up thanks for reading and come on you R's

Sorry, don't have an answer as such, but there's an organisation called the Directory for Social Change who used to publish a book each year called Grants of Individuals - CABx generally have a copy or there might be one available from a good public library.

Outrageous to turn her down just because she lives in a council house btw - I've never heard of a council which does the gardening for its tenants.
