*Obviously it doesn't apply to us anyway.

Hinted at by a brilliant tweet from the official account...

We've only gone and re-signed Cian Hayes!

Very good write up about the generosity of the anonymous fan and fans who have contributed through Squad Builder.

And, this is a great piece of work by the club.

Fantastic work. How he wasn't picked to play at Fleetwood is a mystery. Our gain is their loss. He wanted to stay and now he's back. Welcome back Cian.

Fair play to Squad Builder for this

Best on-field news we could've hoped for

If we can get a couple more of the injured back into contention, we might actually have a squad

It is nice to read and well done. Just an idea - but now might be a good time for the Trust to email the membership on how much has been raised through the squad builder so far (last update I saw was £10k) and remind those that have yet to join in or set up a monthly standing order as to how they can do so. Success encourages more to join in and all that......

Another lad on the move is Josh Andrews who has signed for Gillingham from Birmingham for an undisclosed fee. Robbie Stockdale being allowed use of a cheque book again?!

There’s footage on Twitter of Sam Mather scoring four against Norwich last weekend.
One of the goals is a great direct freekick from 25 yards out.

Femi Seriki, having signed a new contract at Sheffield United, is going out to Rotherham on loan.

Man United’s view of this is interesting:

https://www.manutd.com/en/amp/news/detail/man-utd-academy-quartet-leave-in-innov

Each of the players will continue to train and be able to play for United’s Under-21s group, while benefiting from the experience and challenges of non-league football intermittently throughout the remainder of the season.

The opportunity to still train and play games for the Academy means that the players will benefit from a bespoke and flexible programme, with coaches able to make decisions on their schedule week-by-week.

It read like United decide if they’re playing or not and if they’re coming to a particular game they’ll be playing. It also reads that unlike typical loans where we have a responsibility to manage, here we do as we are told by the parent club.

Rugby League introduced something very similar called Dual Registration a few years ago.
It worked for some clubs who worked with a skeleton playing staff but there were some anecdotal horror stories from others where the coach was getting a phone on the Saturday before a Sunday game instructing him that the one of the loanees was available and should play.

It will be interesting to see how it actually works. I too thought about the dual registration point where essentially it’s a feeder club system.

Given the comment about “managing the workload” does that mean Man United’s Academy decides how many minutes these young players play?

There are a few teams in this division that will enjoy giving a couple of well paid young Man United players a kick in men’s football.

The Trust newsletter is excellent. The quality, professionalism and transparency of communication has been superb of late. Really like the way you've embraced the BOGS group when it could have been easy to create a 'not invented here' us and them mentality. Great to see the Squad Builder already reaping rewards and huge respect to the anonymous provider of the large donation. Feels like there's lots of good stuff happening.

We often seem to finish the season strong once spring comes around. If we can stay in touch through what looks a tricky Feb and get some of our key players back I reckon we might be in for a fun final phase when the sun starts to poke its head back out.

And maybe a sell on fee if Barnsley make the transfer permanent this Summer.
