I’m afraid of this is true Many senior officers should be sacked immediately It is racially sensitive and they bottled it 96 men are still out there apparently who constitute a risk It is a culture in many areas of old northern cotton spinning towns . Working class ,naive, white girls seen as trash to play with and to satisfy their perverse lust .

If Asian girls were targeted by white men then this would not have happened as the indignation would be corrosive

However, the parents again are getting away with it, 11 + year old kids out at all hours and then blaming everybody in sight for their parental incompetence. The social system in the uk isn’t a child minding service for people who can’t live properly but are still allowed to procreate.

Very true about parents, social services classify children as being in need or at risk and identify parenting issues but there seems to be no sanction against parents until they take children into care Social workers talk about the importance of early intervention to help children but there is not really early intervention against errant parents?

Social workers really don’t want children into care unless there’s an immediate danger to the children. It’s not their job to punish parents. They would rather keep families together

Don't assume I'm advocating breaking up families, social workers should be able to recommend something like a special guardianship order at the child in need stage so another willing and responsible member of a family like a grandparent can have rights in protecting the child for example.

That already happens. Grandparents are encouraged to get involved, but they don’t have legal rights, only parents have those. It’s not easy to get court orders or restraining orders either

Well that's part of my point, where a child is in need the legal framework could do more to protect them by giving supportive family members rights of access for example. The rights of a child in need should be codified. [Post edited 16 Jan 7:35]

Unfortunately, if the father is named on the birth certificate he has equal rights

When the colour of someone’s skin is more important than protecting the safety and wellbeing of a child just makes me want to throw up. What society have we become in this country to allow this?

I know a few who have sole custody of a child and the errant father has controlled visitation rights which limit their interaction with the child so its not true they have equal rights , far from it
