New Year’s Eve Question 20:36 - Dec 31 with 1749 viewsAguycalledJack

Now this may have been done before or may be easy for some but I knew the swans had a link to the film but until today did not know what that link was:

Just watching a re-run of escape to victory. Can anybody name the swan to be that appeared in that film?

For a bonus point, what team did he make his debut against for the swans?

And for a Brucy bonus, how many goals did he score on his debut?

Robin Turner

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Mid 80s. I remember him scoring, can’t remember who against, and our crowd sang the great escape, as it was end of season.

Suprised that Robin Turner played a German player.
Plenty of German players they could have used, especially as the game was filmed in Budapest ?

Sylvester Stallone bet Kevin Beattie $100 that he could beat him in an arm wrestle.

Beattie won.

As a film I love it.

I seem to recall it always being on Boxing Day afternoon as a kid. All the family would descend on my parents house Boxing Day. If the swans weren’t home ( if they were we’d be in the game) this always from memory was on.

Always conjures up memories of happy times, family and my grandfather (massive swans fan who we lost a number of years ago).

Funny what you associate with the good times.
