Well if he could catch the team at Oxford he should be capable of a significant impact at this level. Age and experience wise this does hit the mark. Note he is described as a creative player, but suspect he is able to leave a foot in. You don’t get games at a championship level unless you have the stomach to get stuck in. This creates competition for midfield places which has been lacking. I reckon that’s the Rathbone money spent. If he is as good Ollie that will do for me. Welcome Liam.
Edit: Just seen the tape and he reminds me very much of Martin Ling who played for Southend and Swindon. Small, technically gifted, playmaker with an eye for goal.

This is a hell of a signing, just what we needed in the middle of the park...really looking forward to seeing him play, just might encourage others to stay put and sign new contracts also...Shows the club mean business in my eyes anyhow...

His wiki page says 178cm which is 5 feet 10 if that is to be believed.
You might have the wrong Liam Kelly. He is shown as 5ft 4”. RS does seem to go for height extremes in his signings. There is over a foot between the tallest and shortest.

Mixed opinions from Oxford fans - this is typical:
Looks a good signing on paper certainly the experience in midfield we need as keohane can play their too. I’d be surprised if we sign anyone else now I’d like a right winger but that’s probably wishful thinking.

Lots of comments from Reading and Oxford fans on Twitter that suggest, ability-wise he’s Championship standard. It’s his application which lets him down. Still, excited to see him play!

After his HT talk on Saturday, I suspect Robbie may be the right man to hold his feet to the fire to get the best out of him of needed. He's got a 2 yr deal, so he owes RS.
It seems to me that this is a lad who's career has gone off track after a more than promising start. He probably needs to be somewhere like Rochdale to reset his head and start to enjoy his football again. Clearly Feyenoord was, in hindsight, a costly mistake in career terms but now he knows he has 2 years to get back into the limelight and start to impress again. Good luck, if it works out Liam and RAFC will both do well.
