So while it was all happening at Plough Lane this evening I was watching Whalley Range AFC in the Cheshire League and found myself chatting to someone who said his name was something like David Howes and that he briefly played for Dale under Eddie Gray. He came across as genuine enough and listed players he remembered playing with including Simon Holden whose own mother has probably forgotten ever played League football (I remember him being featured in a programme, giving his nickname as 'Si' and professing to drive an Austin Allegro) Thing is I can't find any reference to anyone by the name David Howes online so I'm hoping TVOS or someone might be able to confirm one way or another for me.. |  | | |  |
