Of course younger kids spread it, they are just smaller. they have the same physiology and anatomy as adults have, they just don't get sick with it and don't get tested either

More nonsense They don't get tested FFS one of my family group of grandkids have been tested at least once, in one case twice . and yes they do get ill , tell that to the parents of a little boy living close to me who's extremely ill , perhaps it all a myth

I don't know of any young kids who have been tested, certainly not on the scale of adults. Most are asymptomatic and we don't get tested unless we have symptoms

Children and Younger adults generally dont get it as serious as older adults. Only 1 % of those who die from it are under 50 and less than 5% under 60 but there will always be exceptions.

What a confusing response that is, you don't know then its well not on the scale of adults , Why do you think some school years and complete schools have closed compared to factories/shops for example . You don't always have to have the symptoms to have the test , you can liar.

Why would anyone have a test if they didn't have symptoms? Even those on covid wards don't get tested unless they have symptoms.

Mass testing programmes are different,

A wild guess here but maybe because you've have been in direct contact with some who has the virus or as a prerequisite due to the nature of the job to allow you to continue working .

Rumours that the senedd and Drakeford have lost control of the spread of the virus in Wales are untrue.

I heard that rumour earlier. If Drakeford tried that at any time, let alone Christmas, he'd be finished.

I doubt it he has given the vote to 16 year olds to help labour keep in power . He only has to offer then booze and fags at 16 to ensure another 5 years in power.

Children under 1 are getting tested. Because you don't know of any doesn't make a difference, they are getting tested as and when.

Tests are normally only available to the symptomatic apart from the mass testing programmes when anyone can have it. The lack of testing for asymptomatic people who may have inadvertently caught it is part of the problem, they are spreading infections without knowing it.

Kids can be tested, I saw a few down at a testing centre the other day.

It’s rampant at the moment and I think WG /Drakers are struggling to keep a lid on it, with Christmas I suspect it’s only going to get worse. It needs coordinated action between all 4 governments, Drakes firebreak was better timed but too short and Boris’s lockdown was too late but a month is a good break.

Hospital beds are filling up, we need to get the vaccines out to health care professionals/carers so they can do what they are trained to do and then to the most vulnerable who should continue to shield. I know there are issues in care homes, but by vaccinating the staff it will hopefully preven5 further infection spreading.

We have record numbers with covid, record numbers of them in hospitals. We are above the numbers they predicted in a worst case scenario and Drakeford says it's not out of control! On tv this morning the scientific advisor fella said they wouldn't be changing their ind about the Christmas bubbles because all 4 governments had agreed and Drakeford didn't want to go back on his word...seriously? Politicians lie and change their minds all the time but not now?

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/politics/coronavirus-cases-wales-lockdown-chr

The scientific fella also said they didn't want to change the rules because it would cause more confusion, well maybe it would but I doubt it, not if the messge was clear enough. We still have over 2 weks, they could put the message out loud and clear but Drakers is dithering again.
Wales has the worst numbers and they are still getting even worse and now he chooses to follow Bojo and not change his mind?

PS, it was also said that if things are bad enough after Christmas they may have to stop all "non essential " treatments again. We can't spoilt Christmas but all those people needing operations, you can suffer a bit longer!

Johnson is still fiddling round the edges with two weeks to go.

They realised on Tuesday that the Christmas ‘bubbles’ start on the 23rd. Schools have been heavily relied on in track and trace and break up on the 18th. There’s a six day window for schools to successfully support track and trace which takes us to the 24th, after families enter relaxed restrictions and will be in much wider contacts. So...

The DfE announced on Tuesday afternoon that schools can take an INSET day on the 18th, meaning staff won’t have be involved in track and trace on Christmas Eve.

All schools in my area have refused to close, firstly because giving parents such short notice isn’t fair and secondly it perpetuates the myth that INSETS are days off.

I appreciate it would be short notice for parents but surely emplyers need to be understanding with what is going on? We need to make the right choice not the friendly choice surely?

Bojo, Drakeford, they are both useless.

I’m with you on the last sentence!

Trouble is it was offered as a choice. Up to individual schools to make the decision and if you choose to close you have to prove what you’re using the INSET day for. (It’s not an extra day, it one of the yearly allocation)

For me it was a no brainer. It was a choice between spending a week planning a high quality training day (and risking the ire of parents) or possibly spending Christmas Eve contact tracing.

I’m happier with the latter.

It's not a choice in Wales though, Drakeford has said schools should stay open. I want my son to be in school, it's important but at the same time if it's not safe, well it's not safe. Maybe it's safe for him at 12 years old but what about parents and grandparents?

If they are following the science why do they seem to be making contradictory decisions?

Who knows? In this case it’s more about the work between Public Heath England and school on track and trace - I don’t know if it works the same way in Wales.

I’ve not publicised it but any parents who’ve asked to take their children out next week as they want a safe Christmas I’ve told to crack on.

There’s a whiff of plausible deniability about this. I’d heard from a decent source that the plan was to pull alcohol from sale on the 17th to discourage house parties. I’m quite prepared to believe that’s exactly what was planned and it was leaked to gauge reaction.

If that reaction was favourable they’d have pressed on, they can’t have liked the reports that came back.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

Wrong again !! I had a test in the summer , booked via the phone system I simply said I had a cough, the reason why I requested the test at the behest of my employer, was my mother in law was dying (covid was the cause of death ) in a care home and against all "guidelines" they kindly allowed my wife to spend 3 days with her in an isolated room .That kindness will never be forgotten . And just to let you know I haven't got symptoms but had a test on Monday all due to the fact I'm in for an operation tomorrow and without a test the operation would be postponed. So give it up because your one line incorrect responses are getting tedious.
